i dont wanto be a buzz for anybuddy but if u watch any of the videos were the GTR COMPETES w/ a z06 the z06 murders it in
speed,handling,acceleration and everything..
references are
edmunds,5th gear, fasttrack, modernracer probly more but if u look at any of those on the comparison test ud no that the z06 was the route to go. its 20k cheaper then a new gtr and better mpgs better seats/style in my OP and its just overall a way way better car- real supercar . z06 beats out lambo, ferrari and such
speed,handling,acceleration and everything..

my friend used to have a gtr before trading it in for a dodge viper reason being he dynoed it and they dont even put up 400 to the wheel. my buddy has a z06 and he dynoed at 485/479 stock stock tink about it!
+1 test driving the z06

i m not sayin anything bad about z06, it iz hands down more powerfull then gt-r and does have fast then gt-r if u compare the high end speed... but no1 in ever going to take thier cars to almost 200mph....and handling wise IMHO even with suspension work corvette will not outhandle gt-r.... AWD > RWD.
z06 is ridiculously quick after 90+mph...then its just like a bullet.... but 0-60... Gt-r has it... either way both are good cars.

I'd go with a GTR. I drove my friends once at the track and it was a blast. Comparison to other cars and Dyno number mean nothing since you are never going to push the car to the limits like pro drivers do. If you like the looks, and how it feels when driving GO FOR IT!
The GT-R is not overpriced, it's way underpriced. The GT-R is a real SUPERCAR, most cars in its class go for $200,000.
The Z06 isn't even in the same league as the GT-R.....the ZR1 is. The reason the GT-R is so incredibly groundbreaking is because it literally is a supercar for $70,000!
It's an obvious choice to trade the Z in for a GT-R if you really have the money, but any car like that is going to require very expensive upkeep.
But if you test drove the GT-R and you think it's not much different than your Z, then don't buy it.....cuz it should be a WORLD of difference away from a Z!

LOL< that last statement is just crazy.. I have no idea how you can compare a Z06 to a Ferrari or Lambo and think that it is a better car. What are your judging criteria? I think any car magazine would completely disagree with you unless your sole decider is price...

Hey Brent when you ran the Z06, were you modded?? just wondering as stock for stock the Z06 will usually get the GTR in a straight line, from everything I have seen/read, and talking with some Z06 owners that have encoutered GTR's ( I know the GTR is faster on the road course though)

in pure performance, the Z06 is actually better than ferraris etc counter parts... example the Z06 is faster than cars like the F-430/997 TT etc.. in a straight line and on the road course..this has been tested over and over again... so in performance sure... but to think that is an overall better car than a ferrari for example.. no...
this is the only category I see the Z06 winning in.... everything else goes to the exotics... but its still impressive imo... and trust me I am not a vette nuthugger,( in fact my next car will most likely be a porsche, wont be for a loong time though haa ) but its performance numbers speak volumes about the car... and this is my only point..
In almost every mag test available the Z06 was the fastest car on paper... however it seldom won best car....so like I was saying in the performance category it is the best car( obviously I am not reffering to the GTR right now, as the statement was comparing the Z06 to ferrari's etc)... but thats about it... so I agree with your overall point.. just no in the performance category...
just one of many examples ( http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...mparison_tests )
