shoud i trade in z for gtr
I've been to our local dealership a few times for service and to discuss buying a Titan (which I did from another dealership), a 350z, and a 370z. When we negotiated the Titan, we literally had to walk away from the dealership as they would not budge on their counter-offered price. I had not discussed my trade-in with them yet. My wife and I were in the car and they came running back out to ask if we could make something work. They got to within $500, and we still said no. The next day they called and said they would take the deal. I was confident we got it for next-to-lowest they would sincerely go. The day we went to pick it up, I took our Infiniti G35C to trade in so I could see the "true" value of my trade-in. Of course, they low-balled the trade in $3k under what Infiniti told me they would buy the car from me straight up. I added $500 to the value Infiniti told me, and Nissan took it. In total, that was $5k of negotiating room after the initial negotiations had taken place. It was $8k in negotiations total ($4.5k on the truck, $3.5k on the G trade in).
I won't even go into the story about our negotiations for a 370. I will summarize, however, that they offered me a NEW (i.e. 15 miles on it) 2008 NISMO 350Z for $25k though.
I wouldn't want to pay the money on maintanence, but if you can afford it bro do it. I have a thing for the new Camaro SS so ill probably be trading my Z for one a few years from now when my Z turns five or six years old.
If you have the money to trade the Z for a GTR why would you ever hesitate long enough to ask?
Either you're full of crap or you are trying to convince yourself to buy something you can't afford in a failing economy by getting the green light from a bunch of guys you've never met before.
The purpose of this thread is beyond my ability to comprehend. Like cheese. How do they make it so friggin good?!

well fellas i met with the dealer and he gave me 14 for the z AND 59 k for my 650 which is basically new i turned it down.also he was giving me the gtr for invoice which was 80k.
None of the cars the OP is comparing the GT-R to are even close. Twin Turbo, all wheel drive, tranny that shifts in less than the blink of an eye - and the 2010 has a manual option, correct? No matter what you do to a 350/370, it will never approach the GT-R either. If the fact that it is a Nissan bothers you, either get over it or don't buy it. The GT-R is easily the best car for the money as far as "supercars" go, but it is still not for everyone - neither is a "vette, absolutely the last car I would buy even if someone gave me the money. One of my best friends has a GT-R and it turns heads every time he takes it out. But for track days, he takes his 350 Track model. Who wants to take a $75k car out and risk doing $20k worth of damage. And yes, the scheduled maintenance would break most of us - price out a simple oil change for instance. I believe the first scheduled maintenance package is around $1200-1400. No thanks!
a regular c6 vette has the same quarter mile as a new m3, now im not defending the car but im just sayin, heck just get a vette for 30k then spend fifty bucks on some z06 badges, and steal some z06 rims. Then you can floor it everywhere no one would tell the difference and they will think your a badass. now just remember you will only be able to pick up one hooker at a time. if you get the gtr you can pick up three and with the extra hp you can just floor it and slam their heads into their headrests when you want them to shut up. but then again that might be a bad idea cause they might start to gang up on you and jack you for your wallet and your car. wtih all of that being said i have come to a conclusion that the corvette with z06 badges is an overall better car
Base invoice on the 2010 GT-R is $76k. MSRP is $80.8k. There is only one major add-on, which is $3k for the special paint (which adds $2.6k to the invoice). Invoice on the premium model is $78.1k, and MSRP is $83k. Same thing with the add-on(s), only the Super Silver paint adds much to the cost ($3k to MSRP, $2.6k to invoice). Don't forget about their 3% of invoice hold back! It doesn't look like they were offering it to you at invoice. . .
Shh, don't tell everyone about how cheap TTs are now!
Buy a R34 (rare/cant U.S. regulations)
Go vette, so very sexy and mucho powero.
Or keep the Z.
Id say no to the new R35. not sexy, looks good but ehhh, i duno. plus numbers dont match performance wise to justify price. also heard maintainance was expensive.

some r35 owners have noted that they feel bored without a traditional manual gear shifter. some people need to use their own arm to have fun, if you get what i mean ;D<center><object width="1" height="1">
