Oh yeah not Z-related but, booked a 19 day road trip, San Fran -> Sacramento -> Hwy 101 down to LA -> San Diego -> Vegasbaby, hoping to see some Zs on the roads!
If you see a scrawny, beardless, pale viking in a rental 'stang vert or similar with a blonde in the passenger seat, driving granny style, flag me down and say hi!

Also just came home from a ~600mile roadtrip in the Z. 3 days of driving my baby and saw Iron Maiden perform in Gothemburg (Sweden)!
The Z drives so well I'm taking her out for another 4 day road trip as soon as I get off work (2 hours and counting)! I just don't get tired of driving it.
In-A-Gadda-Da-Vi...... oh wait.....that's the other Iron something..... Heh.

Welcome to California. SF to Sacto THEN down South? That's backtracking.... but what the hey. Not sure which way you're coming down from Sacto to catch 101 but 5 -- > 152 West takes you right to 101 South bypassing all the mess in the Bay Area (unless you plan to take in SF and surrounds)

Another option: you could get on 101 at 152 as above then cut over to the coast at 156 and take the Pacific Coast Hwy (Hwy 1) down past Monterey/Big Sur then pick 101 back up right at Pismo Beach/San Luis Obispo.

Longer but waaaaay more scenic. If yer in a 'vert, that's the ONLY way to go, IMO. Enjoy the trip!

Traded my Z1/M1 single exhaust (went back to stock, my 7-year old was starting to get headaches from the drone) for an 06+ front end.

what wheels? those look very similar to what i am looking to get (hope they come in black) and the undershroud- one of fhose is on my list esp. after i got up under the car for the 120,000 mile checkup.......

and my adding to the "what did i do for my z today" thread well- a week ago- did the 120,000 mile service, flushed trans, pressure checked/flushed cooling system (rad.cap spring failed test) , replaced rad.cooling fans (they were dead, they came on- sorta- but were really weak) , found loose fitting on power steering cooler radiator, replaced the belts,.... i am sure three are some other things i missed mentioning- however- end result- car is still in great shape for being a 11 year old 120,000 Z .... (i am the second owner and intend to keep this beauty living as long as possible....or until another bucket list car jumps up at me...)

I just ordered new enkei wheels... My current wheels are oem anniversary edition wheels that I painted their current color... I actually like them a lot, will probably swap my winter tires on them for the off season... (Massachusetts has a off season for sports cars)

Does it have any less than twenty billion bolts?

Same number of bolts, but it has a little hatch you take off with just 2 bolts to access the drain plug. Add a Fumoto drain valve and changing the oil is a pleasure.

Yeah, running the plug, i like that, and i can access that with the standard plate, it's the filter that i can't get at/drain with the stock plate.

I grab the filter from the side - never had any problem.

The removal of the filter, draining it, does it clear the plate? no mess?

A little oil gets spilled when you take the filter off - can't be avoided. I just wrap a few paper towels around the base of the filter, and use cap wrench to loosen it. I might spill a few drops, but not enough to worry about cleaning up. Nothing like my wife's Acura TL-S where the oil gets all over the lower control arm.

Yeah we're visiting my girlfriends grandfolks up in Sacramento before heading south to visit more relatives down in San Diego. I'll be racking up lots and lots of hours behind the wheel, granny style in a vert

And sorry I don't know what I was thinking, ofcourse we're going Hwy 1, I get confused with all the 1's and 0's and mixed up the roads hehe . We're aiming for the Pacific at Santa Cruz and then Big Sur and all the sceneries.

Its getting there, not bad for a solo mission. Rear bumper was just wrapped, just have to install it.

Freshly mounted 265/285 RS3's on RPF1s

A little bit more meat

Wrapped the interior piece with some 3D neffy wraps. Cloth like material adds some depth to our boring center console.
