I called my insurance agent yesterday and was surprised . I'm Under my mom's insurance, Nationwide, and they told me my policy would be $526 every 6 months. I was in a fender bender about 2 years ago and it's still on my record. I'm just puzzled because this is $10 less than on my current car, 2007 Malibu.

i am not sure on how insurance companies "calculate" the premiums but i'm pretty sure that they take alot in consideration before pricing. if the price is right, don't ask!

My '08 350Z costs a little less to insure than my wife's '05 Acura TSX. Both have the same coverages, I'm 51, she's 49, and we're with Geico.

I am 27 w/ a clean driving record and great credit (yes, they look at credit ratings while figuring insurance rates) and I pay about $80/month for full coverage on my 350z including all the extras like towing coverage and whatnot.

i would have to agree with your statement. younger folks just don't understand how important their credit ratings are to companies that require this check; keep your credit score up there and check at least once annually! just look at me, i pay 78 and some change for both of my rides; the 08 350z and 03 cobra! i love my insurance company!

For those who don't want to read the rest of this thread, here's the Cliff Notes.

1) Everybody pays different amounts. See https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....0&postcount=36

2) Yes, careless 17 to 24 year olds are to blame.

Enjoy yourselves kids!

oops... one more reminder, something to think about. It's not the car so much as it's the driver that affects the insurance rates.

I got my license in 1982 with 3 speed tickets just this year n sold my Z stick

My son is 16 want Z automatic, so giving him 1 year to see how he drive with cheapy car 95 EG6 Civic I have with liability insurance only.

Insurance for Z, I should be still cheaper than 16.......kinda wonder.
