LOL at people who don't read through threads.

Remember Alvin's thread about selling his Evo-MR for a Nismo?

I just found out that my insurance is going down $50 a month to $130 for the Z. Thats awesome for me considering I have a TERRIBLE history of driving. In NJ at my parents house, I was only paying $140 for full coverage on my 2007 STI...once I moved out to Philly...insurance DOUBLED to $280!!! Progressive and everyone else told me Philly is possibly one of the worst places to insure a vehicle. I had to get rid of it because of that...but damn do I miss my STI

The thread is top ten worst cars to insure, no other thread has been made. If people want to discuss current insurance plans, let them discuss, why is the moderator discouraging it?

You guys are also forgetting deductible amounts play into that as well. I'm sure the 19 year old guy has like $1000 deductibles on both comp & collision.....if he has any comp at all. Also the insurance company greatly differs. When I bought my Z I shopped all the insurance companies I could think of, and it scared me how CHEAP Safeauto and some of the other ones were. I ended up sticking with State Farm because I'm more confident in them, and I'd rather pay a little bit extra through a company I know will take care of me. Plus State Farm is the biggest car insurance by FAR.

Some of you are getting RAPED. Seriously, call a few other insurance companies. I switched the Z's insurance off my dad's squeaky clean Geico policy and created my own with Liberty Mutual, and I have better coverage now too. At the end of the day, at 24 1/2 years old, I'm saving $600 annually. 2200 vs. 1600.

But damn, some of you guys pay dirt for your insurance. Amazing.

It wasn't discouraged, it was suggested to be pointless and boring. So far it is, and you've contributed nothing to help your cause of continued discussion.

BTW, this has been discussed, this isn't the first year this list has come out. It's like an annual gathering of kids who get to either brag about their awesome rates (under their parents insurance of course) or complain about why insurance companies are so unfair.

Damn reading this thread makes me feel like im getting robbed... I pay $150/month (thats 1800/year...) for full coverage for my Z.. I'm 22 but its my mother's policy. Parents been driving for.. ages without a single accident/claim/tickets. I've had my license for 3 years now too with no accidents/tickets. I also get a discount because im a full time student with 3.5 GPA.. wtf?

Our deductable is $500 for collision and comprehensive damage.

I got my Z in march of 2007,since then no accidents or tickets but yet for some reason my premium has gone up about 120 bucks in the past year.I'm about to contact them and find out whats up but its probably because of all the young knuckle heads getting their hands on these cars now because they are getting so cheap then wrecking them.

Lightbulb Tips for unexperianced drivers

oops... that was supposed to be a thread

Insurance related...I use a broker, seem to get the best rates that way.

I need to do some insurance shopping talking to an agent (websites never show better than current coverage). Currently with Geico, 36 but with some credit issues still on the report though taken care of (they look at stuff like that). My old car a Saturn Ion coupe was 106 a month. Got the Z last Dec, 183 a month. Then I took a hard look at my profile stuff online and realized there was some erroneous data. Also updated my education and job. Now I'm at 136 a month just because I checked stuff I hadn't looked at in years. That's 500col/250comp deductibles.

my insurance actually went down a couple hundred bucks after selling my srt4 and buying a Z, which i found strange considering the value of the Z is much more and apparently higher on the **** list.

yea .. I probably got the highest deductible you can get

but its full coverage b/c since the car is on a loan

I work at a body shop .. so even with a high deductible I still come out making money if the car gets damaged

"gotta wreck the truck to get the insurance money to make the truck payment"

I'm pretty sure its a lot higher out here, in Vegas 1/3 of the drivers are drunk at any time, and we are semi close to the border. Cali folk are even closer to the border.
