I had another guy...maybe the third one this year make this comment about my Z... "Hey man, nice cars I used to drive an old datsun!"

Anyone else get some re-accuring comments about their Z?

JK, i get those coments once in a while. Which is cool because I do still have a '76 Datsun 280z. One time I did get a comment from this lady about my Datsun"nice car, I used to have that same RX-7" And then went on for 20 minutes how the car is not a datsun, it is a Mazda.

Z's have a strong history; should be proud... positive or negative. I just usually give em the douche smile... the smile that says (yeah, you're only talking about my car, not driving it).

and Lopez, how are you at your colored halo lights hunt? success?

well i was wrong!! there are no color halo lenses they are called demon eyes, that's my next weekend project!

and i love it when somebody older tells me stories of them back in the day with their datsun

what do you guys think of the concept???

concept looks cool those work/rota wheel desgin looks sick but i doubt itll ever go in that direction thats more of an american car thing to retro the muscle look

If you haven't read it yet, in Mr. K's 100th birthday interview even he said the car was going in the wrong direction...he also call the Miata the new Z.

If the Miata is the new Z, the Z is doomed. I drove at least six Miatas while I was looking for a sports car. The brand new ones were pretty nice, but anything with more than 10K miles was junk.

As a side note, All the Corvettes I drove were really good, even the ones with close to 100k on them. They really hang on to their newness, but I didn't think any of them were as much fun to drive as the Zs.

I just think it is a difference in what you consider fun. My '06 ZR parks next to our '09 GT1 vette roadster...both great cars...but very different cars. This is my second Z and our fifth Corvette.

As far as the Datsun comment...I'm one of those people who will always consider Nissan to be Datsun as my first car was a '78 Datsun 280Z. I'll call it a Nissan now...but I "know" what it really is!

Had to show off three of my "babies"...in various locations (sorry, no "all together pics). I'm a buy a car because you like it guy...not a brand zombie...it keeps people guessing what I'll come home with next!

When my clutch went I had my car towed and the tow truck driver for the whole half an hour drive was trying to convince me my car was a skyline.

Nah, haha they just all said almost the exact same thing and they all happened pretty close together, this was not a negative post either, obviously I like it when I get complements on my car, I think its great that peopple that used to drive datsuns are still noticing Z's and maybe more of them will purchace a Z.

I get a lot of "What kind of car is that?"(Old people) or "Nice porsche"... WTF?

^ Those are pretty common remarks. Even young people will say what kind of car is that.
