Default advantages of auto vs Manual

to hear your guys opinion, in my part there really isnt that much of a difference because i know i could easily just as much enjoy auto vs manual (going reverse is sexy!) anyhooo. focusing on engine and all, what are key advantages a manual could have over an auto.. any transmission issues i should be aware of or maybe a stick has better tranny life (if treated well for sure)
any info is great.
thanks

For one, I like deciding what gear I'm in, but thats already been mentioned in your other thread.

If you ever decided to go FI and wanted to put up big numbers the auto cannot take it like the manual can. I'm not sure what the limit is on the auto though and I'm sure someone will chime in. The limit on the manual has not been found as there are 1000hp Z's on here on stock manual

Ah, the ultimate in fail. This has been discussed, argued and debated to death. A simple search on "auto" in this forum would have returned you more info that you can digest in a lifetime here. Here's a few examples....
