MAKE SURE you keep all receipts and document things. This is for warranty purposes down the road

Don't go over 4000 rpm's for the first 1200 miles. Change the oil at 1200 miles. Now you can go over 4000 rpm's. I will change to Mobil 1 at around 12000 miles only because I want to have mine serviced (oil&filter changed) every 3000 miles and watch the tire wear and develop a relationship with the dealer so any problems I might have will be handled. After I go to Mobil 1 5w30 I will do the oil and filter changes every 6 months or 6000 miles. JMHO

I asked what the best wax was, and everyone told me royal purple. I personally went 3000miles till my first change, and then I had the dealer do it(first change was free) while there isnt a concensus on any special break in oil, most do agree that you shouldnt try and break the engine in with synthetic. so I figured I can wait till 6k, then I went with mobil 1.
now at 9k Im switching over to royal purple to see how that performs. its not really any more expensive, but you wont find a local oil change place that carries it, atleast I didnt, I went to jegs to order it.

That "special oil" you're talking about isn't really used anymore. Or at least that's what a tech told me last new car I had (before Z). This is an oil that manufacturers used to use to aid break-in, and often did not require first oil change to occur until i.e. 7000 miles. As far as I know this isn't really used anymore. As technology got better, there was no need for the special oil. Just break-in the motor and do first oil change at 3750 miles. Enjoy.
