Which model are you considering. Track, touring, performance, enthusiast, base. Also if you can go 2004 do it. Us 2003 owners were the beta testers. Nissan did some minor tweeks. Does anybody have release notes. LOL.

Just off the top of my head. I know they fixed the passenger seatbelt mechanism, it has also been reported they fixed the Bose system in the 2004 models as well. If you go 2003 you have to get a TSB done to replace the amp. I havent heard a 2004 Bose system though. There are more things Nissan fixed as well. Anybody else know jump in.

No difference. Nav door is a button and flips up like a sunglass clip on glasses. Theres a seatbelt clip thing so it doesnt bang on ur door while driving. Base model gets lights on vanity mirrors.
As for the problems...im hoping they are fixed...I got 2004 base and starting to get rattles and noises from the front and back..BUT I still love this car!

2004's get the 3rd edition transmission. They offered me a steal on the 03's too, but I still decided to wait until January for a brand spankin new Z, built specifically for me. Hell, they haven't even started to build it yet. Thank you to all the "beta testers", I truely appreciate it.

Thank you, as most people already know what I'm going through, I'm pulling my friggin hair out!!!!!! My dealer actually told me that the wait would be pure hell, yet I didn't quite grasp the concept at the time.

The thing I noticed from the 04 and the 03 is the nav door. The nav door just flips up and stays there... how are u supposed to see the nav or ur tv with that friggin nav door in the way?! Another thing that my buddy ElDiablo pointed out to me is that there's a 2nd cig lighter under the cupholders on the passenger side. The 03 only has the cig lighter behind the lil glove box. Everything else looked the same on his Z as mine, cept he has the track and I have the enthusiast. The only thing I don't like about the 04 is the nav door. Other than that the car is great! He still has the window grease problem tho

Default Nav door

The flip-up door are for the 2004s Non-Nav models only.

The 2004 Nav models get a motorized door.

I am positive that the springs and sturts were changed for 04 to kill the bounce or improve the ride quality.

I have absolutely no complaints with my 2004 Bose audio system. I was actually very impressed with it after expecting the worst! Ive had aftermarket stereos in every car I have ever owned and I dont plan on upgrading this one.

Absolutly NOT true. My 04 sometimes gets massive bounce on the launch.

I think most importantly, no one with an 04 has had any tranny issues. At least so far..Mines fine.

You sound exactly like me! I was expecting a POS like in my ACURA RSX Type-S. And with everyone on here complaining about it. I did test drive an '03 and its stereo sounded like crap, but my '04 sounds 100% better. I never thought I would say this, but I am just fine with the way it sounds. I am very happy!
