In my area, it's the Semi's that really throw the rocks causing chips. The SUV don't seem to do as much cause they have wheel wells. There is one particular stretch I stay off just so that I don't get broken windshields during the week. On that stretch I have had no less than 3 cracked windshields because of those F'ers.
