I'm surprised no one has mentioned tire pressures for a long distance trip. Check your tires carefully in the cool morning with a good quality tire gauge. Set them for 35# all round and monitor the pressures via the TPS. Set the CC at 65-75 MPH and watch the mileage run in the 30-33 MPG range as the ECM leans out the fuel mixture in sixth gear.
If you want to keep your ride in good condition, I would definitely invest in some painter's tape. I used to be a part of a car club that went to shows and after our first trip we all realized that blue tape is a necessity when driving long distances. My front bumper looked more f'd up then the face of a teenage boy with bad acne. Tape is the way to go my friend.
