Why'd your parents buy you the car?

TBH, I asked for a Integra or Civic but my parents wanted a safer car than those tin cans. It's ironic don;t you think lol If you look at my other thread about my totalled Z, I came out alive and I was very thankful I am still here today. Z actually saved my ***. If I was in a Civic or something I'd probably be either dead or in the hospital still. I know its sickening to watch our spoiled generations get Z's and do something stupid and wreck them I will admit that but its mainly due to the driver not the car. I know someone who is 19 and bought a 2011 GTR for 92k paid straight cash or well check. Got t boned and had it for only a couple months. He blamed the brakes for not stopping.

The oldest Z33 is now 10 almost 11 years old and relatively underpowered by today's standards, and very cheap so a young kid can now afford them without mommy and daddy paying for it. I think it's time to let this discussion go. There are FWD family sedans with more power than the original Z33s.

For example the acura tl has 280 which is the same same as the early z33. I was exaggerating about it being more. as far as rwd cars go, there are a lot that have over 300 off the floor. I'm just saying that at this stage in. time, it's a very moot discussion.

and in your analysis did you include weight to power ratio? ecu tuning? build quality of the car? your example car was a terrible choice. Those acuras are heavy as **** and the engine isnt as powerful as the Z's engine, your off by about 40 hp unless your including the early years, in which case your still off by 20 hp. and what other cars are you comparing the Z to? im just curious as to what gave you this reasoning, not trying to flame.

this is why 17 year olds shouldnt drive 350z's
i knew this guy, he loved my Z so one day his dad bought him one and the first thing he decided to do was to teach himself how to drift...he hit a median within the first month he had the Z (cracked bumper, dented rim) after he fixed it he did continued to "drift" and one day after watching tokyo drift he decided to go out and try drifting with the handbrake and this is what happened

Lol @ the idea that modern cars are just as powerful, and the car is cheap therefore it's "ok"

That's the exact same idea squids use when they get on a early 2000 r1/r6 at a young age and still eat sh**.

The Z is easy to drive fast, and is rewarding to drive quickly. An acura tl isn't. The line between driving quickly correctly/safely is much more blurred in a sports car than something that isn't designed for spirited driving, to a novice driver. And a young novice driver will exacerbate that issue magnificently.

Well now, that is a pretty bold statement seeing as how you have never seen another soul on this forum drive, and seeing as how you totaled your first car while drifting - but of course it wasn't your fault as another car had the audacity to be on the road with you. smh
