I like this thread, ive had my Z since i was 17 and before that

*85' Cj7
*94' Accord
* And now 04' 350z base

I knew how to drive a stick before i could walk so i kinda find it offensive when age is a factor in owning a Z why so much hate for us young drivers?

I'm going to ignore your hyperbole and get straight to it. That's the point of this thread, you are supposed to be offended. If not, then I need to step it up. Statistics do not lie. They are not subjective. They are quantifiable. They are not biased. They don't care if you get butthurt. They do not offer a nipple for you to suck on, nor a hand to hold. They are cold and they are calloused, and most of all they are an effective way of answering your question as to why we don't like the idea of teens in a sports car. If you need more detailed elaboration, then, you guessed it, look at the stats

Learn to respect your elders and those with more experience/past experiences, snot-dripper.

EDIT - We were all 18 at one point, and we were all just as jaded/naive as you. Don't take offense, just learn from others who have already lived through it.

The first thing you said when you posted was how much you liked this thread. Do you know how many teens have came through saying words that are the mirror image of your own and then have turned around and wrecked their Z from driving like a typical teenager? Quite a few. Butthurt? No. Stereo types are a part of life, deal with it. When the stats favor a stereotype this much it is inevitable. You are nothing more than another possible I told you so for me and I will be there to rub your nose in it if it happens while laughing my *** off. Spoiled kids and telephone poles make nice bed partners, boy.

Looks like the kids in here could take a lesson from Cliff Huxtable.

Damn I'm 22 and this is the first car I've owned that isn't a POS.... I had a 2002 street bike when I turned 18 (bought myself) and that's where I learned how to respect the road and the hazards it brings. When I was hit by a UHaul truck on the freeway down here in San Diego I put my bike for sale that night. fortunately I didn't go down when the uhaul merged into my lane and hit me. I bought a 1996 V8 Grand Cherokee... worst mistake ever. when I got my Z, I was that "stupid new kid" for about a week, then I sat down and wrote down some personal stuff about my life and what this car means and what can happen with the power it has. When I have friends ride with me they want to "open it up bro!" there is a time and a place for everything, but not stupidity. Yeah I love the power the feel the rumble of the engine and the car but that's not an excuse to be a douche bag punk on the road.

OK now you can all go and verbally haze me for being the "new kid on the block"

I don't care if your 80 or 8. You gotta give respect to get it. All I'm saying is there's a new world people who still judge based on a stereo type are ignorant. And you'll wreck yours before I do, bet

Such arrogance for a kid. You may not wreck it. I really don't care if you do or don't. I just like to have the I told you so to rub in if you do. The thing is this. You came in here and was immediately defensive in your first post before anyone said anything to you. Had you listed you cars and moved on I would have ignored you, but you acted like the typical spoiled kid your age acts and you were treated accordingly. You don't have enough money to make the bet interesting for me. That is unless daddy will open that checkbook for you

Got my first 'sports' car at the age of 17. Saved up for 4 months at my first job out of high school
1991 Sentra SE-R - Bought it from a friend, fell in love with it. Went through two motors, the first one got rod knock at Fontana drag strip. Swapped in a newer sr20de, and the motor lost compression. didn't want to swap it again so I sold it

Now: A modest 2003 Honda Accord EX, and will be my daily for when I get either a 350z, g35 6mt or a AP1 s2k. But I'm trying to do as much possible research on all three cars to know which will best suit me.

But I do agree with 17 year old kids being a bit on the wreck less side. lost two friends the day before I turned 17 because the driver was messing around. (driver was not my friend)
That's why I tried keeping it on the track

You already have that "nobody can tell me anything" teenage attitude so what we are saying you wont understand until you actually pay your own bills, but you came onto the thread boasting your "accomplishment" as if we were supposed to say " hey, great job on purchasing a ten year old sports car with my parents help or because i saved my whole "life savings" to get it"

I have been on my own since i was 17 and you act like the typical teenage rich kid douche who has had everything handed to them and than when they do one thing on their "own", they boast about how hard they worked for it, and seeing as how ur from ft lauderdale i wouldnt doubt it. Hope you have more than liability because that **** talking will bite you in the *** one day.

People are acting like a 350 is some exotic, expensive car.. They are so common now its not even funny. You can find one for $10k and probably less. I think a teenager working the summer can save up $3k as a down payment and pay the rest.. Just saying.
