How come this debate never happens at meets? Usually when people see I have an auto, they crack a slight joke like "Aww man you got the auto?", bu nothing "Derp autos are fer pussies nd dry take no skills u gurl lulz.".

Op sounds like a teen that just learned to drive stick after watching all the F&F movies back to back.

I could argue that the real skill is in the reaction time and how you come off the line; not the shifting down the track. I guess those NHRA guys running 300+ MPH have no skill.
