Default Fault May Stop Engines

Fault May Stop Engines.

"More than 25,000 Nissan and Infiniti cars and sport utilities from the 2000-2003 model years are being recalled to fix problems that could cause their engines to stop without warning.

A poor solder joint in a circuit board on the crank position sensor is behind the recall including 2000-2003 Sentras, 2001-2003 Altimas, 2003 maxima, 2003 350Z, and 2003 Nissan Murano, infiniti's 2001-2003 I35, 2003 G35 (coupe and Sedan) , 2001 -2002 Q45, and 2003 M45.

The circuit board can crack and cause the engine to suddenly stop running. It can also trigger the service engine soon warning light or lead to reduced power or starting problems.

Dealers will replace the crank position sensors."

There is also a problem with the foam lining Sentras' engine control module box...

This could be just for Canada, but you never know.

Default repost

There have been a whole bunch of posts on the recall already. One news story claims only 171 350Zs are affected (I think that's in the US). I'd imagine A LOT fewer ones in Canada are affected since Canadian car sales are a TINY fraction of those in the US.
