Default Few question's if someone will answer

Hey, i was having a few questions for anyone that has the time to answer them, First off i drive a 03 nissan 350z touring

1. I Heard from one of my local auto shop friends, that the stock intake with a K&N drop in filter adds more horsepower than any cold air intake?

2. Is there any cheap-ish things i can do to get some more horses? I took my car to a local drag race, and just didnt feel like it was right, but im also running 20' tires.

3. Do test pipes add the most horse power compared to headers, and catback?

4. Has anyone seen / heard of anyone cutting out the grill of a stock front bumper and replacing it with mesh instead of the plastic horizontal lines?

Thanks for everyone who takes a look at this and all answers are mostly appreciated

p.s.
Has anyone heard of someone painting there Z midnight blue? I was thinking about trying to get my car painted due to someone hitting me in a parking lot, and midnight blue popped into my head and i wanted someone else's thoughts on it.

Thanks again!

1) You will have to search & make up your own mind on this one, because it is one of the most hotly debated topics...
2) See #3, but don't expect more than ~10whp
3) Test pipes will certainly be the best bang for your buck, at only ~$200. The others will be ~$500 and up, and the results vary a lot more.
4) You can do that on any car, but it looks even worse than the plastic, IMO.

Honestly, it's a 9 yr old car, nothing is going to make it go fast or look awesome if your on the Lowbucks Racing Team.

congrats on your Z. But honestly search the forums and you will find all your questions answered. That being said, the search engine on here is not the greatest. Type it in google, and my350z.com will show up in the search result with the topic discussing your question. It's that easy. You have 9 years of peoples mistakes in modding failures and successes found all over this forum. Learn from them. Good luck.

I think the real issue is the 20ft tires. What kind of suspension do you have to pull that off?

In all seriousness. My car came with 20" rims and putting on the factory 17s turned it into a completely different animal. Suspension, brakes and drivetrain upgrades will be your best bets to make the car more enjoyable. Most NA mods dont seem worth it performance wise.

ignoring the dead horse, I'd say sit down and figure a few things out before u start ur research. Mainly what ur budget and ultimate goals are, and try to find a compromise between the 2. think long term, sure some stuff will be cheaper now, but youll end up paying twice in the end. also, try a bunch of different setups, cuz everybody's driving style is different. Also, you can cut the front out and not have it look bad or rice, but you have to avoid the chicken wire mesh. the only way in my opinion it looks good is if you cut it out, sand it smooth and leave it empty... but if you do that, it helps to have a huge FMIC lol... i like the way mine looks... do you, its ur car, as long as u like it i guess.

Hey now, I still maintain that as long as you don't put on the mesh and have something to fill the void, that it looks okay. see:
