Hopefully you can point them to the scans of the letters and have them bubble it up to the right folks. If it really is legit, someone in Nissan North America should know about it.

Perhaps that's purpose of the request the OP got. His 07 was probably about 4 years old at the time. Did it also have 50K+ miles at the time?
Manufacturer Run In-Use Verification Program (IUVP)
Manufacturers must procure and test in-use vehicles
–One year old low mileage (10K miles)
–Four year old high mileage (50K miles)
•One vehicle per test group must have 75% of useful life
•One vehicle per test group at high altitude
•Vehicles are screened for proper maintenance
•Vehicle tests run are:
– FTP, US06, +(Highway in 2012MY)
– 2-Day Evap, ORVR, OBD status
