Default So..what would you have paid? (Those who have their Z)

I have gotten tons of questions about the Z from friends, coworkers and strangers. Some of them already know the pricing, but many do not. Some of these people always "guess" what the car cost. Most of the numbers I have heard ranged between mid 30's to mid 40's.

So...I was curious...what would you have paid for your Z?

I paid slightly under msrp for the base model with no options.

I think I would have paid up to around 33K for mine...

so about 6K more than msrp.

What about everyone else?

Default I payed.....

I payed about 29,200 (that includes 8.5% sales tax) for my base model. Im getting lo-jack (500), leather (900), tints (140), painted calipers (150), xenons (470) All totalled around 31,500. I probobly missed one or two of the things im adding, but i remmber my total being around that including tax and all.

Actually, mbeguy's question was... "what WOULD you have paid," not "what did you pay."

I cannot answer, as I am still waiting for my Z.

Paid $34,716 for my Performance, with everything except Nav. That includes friggin sales tax. Putting $25 down, will then sell my Prelude privately for about $7k, voila Z paid for. I have to enjoy my Z while I'm relatively young (24). Should have bought a house, I know.

Default Answering the wrong question!

No, no, not what did you pay, but how much would you have paid for this car? OK, let's say you paid $30k. Would you have paid $40k if that's what it cost? What is the maximum amount you would have paid for this car? That was the original question. Maybe start another thread called "How much did you pay?".

Interesting Question.

I don't have my Z yet, so I can't say for sure what I would have paid, but there are definitely some boundary conditions so I can make a guess.

First, I ordered a Brickyard Performance for which I am paying about $34,000 out the door (sales tax sux).

Since I knew what the MSRP was when I ordered, I was only willing to pay $35,000 at that time.

The only other car I was seriously considering was an S2000, which is only slightly more than the performance Z. Therefore, even if I didn't know what the MSRP was, I don't think I would have been willing to pay over $40K since I could have easily taken an S2000 for that much and have been driving it for the past 8 months that I've been waiting for my Z.
