Default Looking at getting a 350Z

I am new to this forum and wanted to get your opinions before I possibly buy me a 350Z

I bought a 2011 Mazda 3 I Sport 2.0L last year since my job requires me to drive a lot, but I will be quitting my job soon and be going back to school and I want a sporty car that has more power than 148hp haha. The 350z looks like it will fit my budget, plus it isn't a bad looking vehicle.

My absolute favorite 350z color is white, but since those seem to be impossible to find locally, let alone having a clean title or low miles! However, I found a blue 06 350z with aftermarket DVD, Nav, 20" rims, and it's the Enthusiast with cloth interior and MT. It only has 39000 miles and he's asking $15,300 OBO. Do you guys think this is a good deal? Also how do I know if it has a good tranny or not, I read some uncomforting problems with the 350Z's tranny.

That's a really damn good deal. It must need something or have a history or wrecks or salvaged title though. It may not if he's trying for quick sale. I have a 2006 that I bought last yr that had 48k miles on it for 14,150 but I had to replace an o2 sensor and a few belts that cost around 500 bucks. There's also a few scratches in the bumper and the fender but you can hardly tell and he needed the money so I felt like it was a good deal. I've never had any problems with my 350z. 2nd gear is a bit notchy but it is on all 350z's. You get used to it.

Have you noticed any oil consumption problems at all with your 06? I read bad things about that and the tranny with the 350Z's which makes me really nervous since I don't want to have to put any extra expenses into the car while going to school, and from other peoples experiences, I know that tranny's don't come cheap lol.

Never had any problems. But I've only put 7k miles on it.

That's a decent deal. The tranny problems were mostly in the 03 and early 04 Z's. Watch out for oil consumption issue on the 06.

Is the Mazda paid for?

you usually dont have to worry about tranny problems w/ the 06, buy a warranty... if it burns oil, problem solved. Mine burns oil but I just add some to it when it gets low and it has never been a problem, i have 97k miles

Is it a 6mt car or auto? The 6mt cars will have the latest trans and all you have to worry about is how it was driven. The 6mt car also has the rev-up motor and you have to worry about it being an oil burner.

Make sure you ask lots of questions and take a good look into the CarFax or examine the car thoroughly!
