Default 2004 Changes

I don't think this was ever pointed out, but i was looking thru the 2004 catelog and it says that they retuned the Bose for '04. It's 240 Watts with Seven Speakers including a 10-inch subwoofer. Not quite sure what the '02-03 specs were. Also I think they added a new color "Liquid Aluminum K25" . It looks lighter than the Chrome Silver KY0.

I also asked the dealer if they had heard anything on a TT model. He said it's in the works and it may be out in October 04. Not sure if there's any truth to that. However, I won't be a bit surprised if they do...just makes my decision more difficult.

theres no way their putting out a TT version until i say the sun explodes. The first aftermarket ones are coming out. The Bose system is the same, except with the couple of fixes that came out in mid 2003. The other changes include knee pads on the center console to prevent rubbing, seatbelt extenders to prevent the rattling some people experienced, and a few other things, but nothing major. You will pay extra for the Liquid Aluminum color, and if you are looking at the touring model, consider the Bose audio systems sucks, just run a search, and there are very few satisfied people here. The leather seats are availible on other models, except the track. I would say look into the performance model which would be a better value. Dont hold your breathe for that TT kit though. Save your money for the Greddy TT kit.

I dont see how the sunvisors couldnt be a swapable item. there has to be wiring in there for the lights; so it may require some wire splicing in the head liner.

the knee pads arent in the 04s yet I dont think... I know they were marked for late 04; which I dont think it is yet; but it could be.

seat belt extender; someone was trying it... wasnt of interest to me so I stopped keeping up with his results. try a search though, might find it.

foward power plug; gotta be swappable; but not as easy as that. anything is swappable. but might require a new plastic panel; and find some ACC power source to use; maybe the power line for the rear power plug.

Knee pads are already in the 2004s, my 10/03 build Enthusiast car has them.

There was a lot of talk before about new suspension for '04 Z, did that never happen or is it coming later in the year?

oh yea. another thing i noticed was the paint was so much better.. no orange peel on the sides or rear.. they said something about a 'soft feel paint' was added to the 04 model lines...

some of the floor reps had a booklet that listed all the changes for 04.. i didnt see anything in there referring to new suspension...

MadMax76, I talked to a guy from Nissan today and he told me that all '04s have the new suspension, something that apparently wasn't all that well known before yesterday.

Do you mean a Nissan Salesperson or someone from Nissan Consumer Affairs?

Not a dealer. Call was made from Nissan to me in response to questions I had asked in a Nissan survey.
