Default 350z HR just got stolen, chased at 155 and crashed

So i awake the other night to two police officers at my door asking me if i knew where my car was, this was obvious for me since i had been home since 6:30pm and been in my room sleeping that my car should have been sitting in the door yard. So i look over into the spot that its usually park and its gone and im like ... you have got to be f*cking kidding meeeeeee. and they were like yea it was just crashed in vermont after a high speed police chase involving speeds excess of 150mph.

soooooooooooooooooo

im screwed, cant get anything out of the car and they are dusting it for finger prints today so hopefully i get some info soon...got a few pics though

Wonder how they started it? They must be a pro, or they had a key.

Did you get it serviced recently? Reason i ask is for someone to get past the immobilizer they must have had a key.

I would cry. Makes me want to install extra security.. As of now I have wheel locks (I go to Newark a lot and can't afford to have anyone steal these wheels) and a steering wheel wrench lock, which can be easily cut

I was stupid and left the key in the car, not in the ignition.. the thing is we live in a really mild town in a mild neighborhood and people leave keys in cars all the time, it doesnt matter how inviting something is to take, it doesnt make it right or give u permission to take it. the car topped out in speed, on a mile long straight, then realized there were S curves coming up and he locked up the brakes, left 300ft of skids before crashing around 80 they estimate.

They said whoever was driving blew the car around once before in attempt to elude them so im thinking this guy was not very experienced with RWD.

The cop was pretty pissed, he said he was at 140mph during the chase and could not catch him, said he was still pulling away... he said that he is 95% sure that it would have outran a state police Charger as well.. he said the guy would have made it away most likely if he didnt crash

when he did crash however, he was far enough in front of the cruiser to leave the vehicle, the cop had to follow procedure and wasnt allowed to chase him into the woods untill kanine units arrived, and 15 mins later when they came they followed his scent to the Connecticut river.

So... Leaving the keys in the car and unlocked... I hope you don't expect anyone to feel sorry for you after that cause that's just ignorant.

I know the type of town your in, and while its not your fault.. look at it this way (cosmicly lol) .. by leaving the keys in the car, youre simply enabling criminals and bad things..
so..

dont enable bad things.

doesnt mean you have to live in fear, but yeah.. you know the deal.. you surely dont need us all playing father here.

i will assure of one thing that universally true of thefts ( coming from someone who used to be the victim of them CONSTANTLY):
it is someone you know, most likely a friend that comes around WITH a friend you know.. or soomeone that hangs out with a neighbor etc.
Usually not the actual friend or the neighbor, just someone one single degree away.

i feel for ya man, i had myz32 stolen, striped, washedm and left in a rural parking lot on Chrysler sebring spare wheels, with nothing left in it, seats, lights, ICE, exhaust, cats, body kit, spoiler.. absolutely nothing left.

Ins sent me 8 grand and told me to get lost.

It depends on where you're living at. Some states will hold you at fault for negligence.

I live in a nice neighborhood as well, nice people and everything. BUT I trust no one but my wife and myself of course. You can never let your guard down no matter where you are because you never know who's watching. Doors/windows to the house and cars are always locked no matter where I am, and valuables are always hidden. Then if someone breaks in, at least I know I did all that I could.

It's too bad that it happened. Hope everything turns out for the best. Hope they catch him.
