I guess I have it good. I told my wife I wanted a Nismo and she went and did all the loan paperwork for me (she works at bank). She handed me the check to give to the seller. She thinks the car looks "badass" however she prefers to drive her Sentra because its much smoother. But she doesn't complain anymore when we take the Z as long as I drive normally.

I lucked up because my wife at first **** on me for the Z, but after i took her to a track day, and started showing her little things to do on cars (change brakes, tune suspension, change oil, etc.) she has never had more fun, granted she doesnt do any of the dirty work other than handing me tools and pressing buttons on lifts lol, but overall she thinks its sexy when men work on their cars, besides any other man approved activity.

my wife was with me on the purchase. took the Z for a test drive with her and that's all she could talk about from then till now. she even has this master appearance plan in her head and helps me clean the Z all the time. only debate we have now is top up or down....

ooooor the fact that my Z is named Nikki and the wife thinks its an "unfitting name" to be polite to the females in the boards lol :-)

I bought my Z a few ears ago, then 6 or so months later I met my girlfriend. Didnt say too much about my car at first until about 4 months or so in and I told her how much I spend on the car (car payment, insurance, gas, and parts). She told me I should buy something cheaper like a honda that I dont have to make payments on. I laughed and said hell no your crazy I love my car. Over next few months kept bothering me about selling it and getting something cheaper, I looked at her and told her "don't ever tell me to sell my car again or I would break up with you". She had pissed me off at that point and didnt see how much I love the car.
A year and a half in and now she sees how much I love it and somewhat supports me. Just not the part about how I always want to spend money on it.
Racked up 3k in credit card get just before I met her on parts for drifting so she still gives me crap sometimes. Now its almost paid off

What the fck is with females thinking they can order a guy to spend his OWN money a certain way? Imagine if we told them they are no longer allowed to spend their money on expensive shoes, clothes and make up? Their fcking heads would spin.

What are you, 12?

I don't see how you guys have issues. My GF and I talk about big purchases together, but we still trust each others' judgement (as mature adults) enough to make our own final decisions.

Well my gf was out of the country teaching English in Spain. I told her I was looking into buying a car. First it was a tsx then a rsx then a rsx type s. until I looked at a z and I was like hell yea imma get this one. I told her I got the car and she liked it. Until I told her my plans with the car once more money is coming in my way. And she gave the talk about "her or the z". She back into the country 2 weeks ago and was giving me speeches about the car is impractical. We went out in the car and wanted me to not pick her up because the car is loud (stock) and she almost **** her pants because of how quick it was. She is still with me today but we will see lol

Its a don't ask dont tell subject. If she does ask, I get "discounts on everything." Keeps life way easier and I don't have to get lectured on money management

haha, no 22. And yes I pay for all my own things. Problem is my girlfriend doesnt see the point in modifying my car and drifting it and setting a financial plan to spend over 20k on a car in parts the next couple years, but her uncle talked some sense into her because he is a car guy too just with a built RX-7. She is slowly coming around though.
Also just as one of the others guy said about his significant other, shes gotta get a hobby. lol

This is 100% true . My GF needs a hobby big time !!! If we're sitti g there and I'm on the forums looking stuff up I hear " your always on the phone looking up cars , that's all you care about " . I simply reply "would you rather me be that guy always on Instagram , Facebook , twitter ect.... Like every other moron obsessed over social networks ? I feel what I do and love is harmless and she sort of gets it now that I'm getting pretty decent at sliding my car and had recently just took her with me in the car the past few weeks I finally see a smile on her face . But bottom line is ... If your girl doesn't have a hobby that's is the problem period !

That's true. I've hardly met many women who have a passion for anything. I mean a serious school-boyish twinkle in their eye when you discuss a topic - for most that is discussing moving mechanical parts. It is a fact that most women have no sense about what it means to be passionate about and they somehow feel the itch and urge to take a shot-gun and burst your dream balloons down ever so often. I guess the least they can do is follow a "don't ask don't tell" policy rather than have a biased opinion about something they don't understand. Conversely if they are passionate about something we need to let them have it.

Yeah that is all so true. She tells me im always on my computer on the forum looking at tech articles on researching parts, or reading the newest DSport Magazine (best car magazine ever!) It's ridiculous how much time people spend on those 3 networks alone, and for what to gossip.
She now finally understands that when I say im working on my car not to bother for me for the whole day because something always takes longer than expected. I wish I could get get rid of my 04 convertible and buy an 07-08 Z already. Convertibles are such a pain in the A** to keep up.
So next forum topic is "ideas for hobbies for our girlfriends"?
