If I were in your shoes I would be a little annoyed at how the prices have dropped and now little ***** out of high school can get one with high mileage like the op did. It bugs the hell out of me.

OP since everyone seems to be a comedian around here let me shine you in on the cheapest/coolest exterior mod there is. Being that you're from Alabama I'm sure you have a gun, so step one, shoot the car to hell making sure you hit the windows, door panels, fenders, hood, front bumper and rear bumper. Now this might sound crazy but this will give you crazy airflow allowing the air to pass through the car giving you perfect balance of the car and help keep the motor cool on those hot southern summers. Second you'll get the cool bullet look except yours will be real and not those fake *** sticker ones. Third, weight reduction, the Z is one fat sports car and needs every bit of trimming it can get.
Hope this helps your answer.

Lol OP is not coming back. You can go find another 350z forum but none can compare to this one.

Welcome to the forum... enjoy your stay.

Actually yes it does annoy me, lol , but seeing its already paid off it's what we refer to in accounting as "sunk costs." The depreciation is inevitable with most mid level sports cars though. I don't mind the teenagers getting them, at least have some class with the Mods. I have a small piece of mind knowing I've got a limited edition. The value may keep a little longer. *Fingers crossed*

Go ahead and ask a question about eBay exhaust....I dare ya'!!
You are missing the whole point of this forum. If you have not noticed by now a lot of people on this forum are performance minded, and quality performance generally comes at a price, and if you arent mechanically inclined it will come at an even greater price.
Example: I blew my clutch drifting last year so you know what I did. I bought one and put it in myself, (never did a clutch in my life before) saved $700+ on labor. Not trying be rude or anything just saying its not about buying the best coilovers or whatever, but its about being willing to spend money on your car and Z's cost A LOT more than civics. Its called a Z tax. Hope someone thinks this is helpful

Look on the bright side OP, you dont need to spend a few hundred dollars on a new intake because the stock one is actually better than a lot of aftermarket, from a lot of the tests people have done. Just remember plastic intake doesnt heat soak like metal so dont by the metal intake unless you just really want it shiny, just buy the K&N high flow drop in filter.

Correct me if im wrong anyone about testing..

Proven fact that all the Nismo parts are better than almost all other aftermarket parts because they are made by the people that designed the car. That's why I only want things made by Nissan to touch my car, plus it keeps it's value since it's made by Nissan.

... and this is exactly why I sold my '05 and moved to the Z34.

I have a few years (hopefully) with this car before this gen turns into the next civic.

Yes, but it's going to happen to most sports cars at some point. I say find something you're real passionate about and stick with it, not try to think about the depreciation too much. It's inevitable sooner or later.

This is interesting though - it seems not a lot of young people are buying up any of the 300zx's. And their values are lower than a lot of the 350zs. Was just looking at the new bodykits from TwinZ Design Z1Motorsports has been marketing. So beautiful, it makes me want to get a 300. lol

+1 idk if another Fast and Furious movie comes out with the 370 in it you might have to worry a bit more lol. I wish the 350 had the same type of effect as the Supra did in the first fast and furious when it became rare and the value of them sky rocketed, instead we get every kid putting veilside body kits on Z's and them thinking they are DK. I want to keep my Z33 but hopefully I can get a Porsche Caymen or older 911. Something a high school kid can't get their hands on and ruin the car's image. I would love a Z34 but i'm fearing the same thing your fearing in a couple years from now when everyone can get one lol.

Jake, I would counter that people will be cheapskates no matter what the car is

On the flipside I know several people with Z32's that take the time to add quality parts and not just the cheapest crap they can find because they care about building something right the first time and not just modding it for the sake of modding

Anyone that says we are elitist just doesn't know enough about aftermarket parts to know that nearly every part for our car has a value priced good quality alternative as well as a higher end version

Agreed 100%, Wais. Don't take my post wrong -- there more owners who value their vehicle than those who do not. I simply meant that the huge depreciation was a bit upsetting (I'm even taking a hit on my '12 right now). There's always going to be those people no matter what year or vehicle you have, that is a given.

Not hating here...

We're on the same page my friend, it's only a matter of time until the cheapskate plague moves onto the Z34
