Why is the HKS exhaust such a hot topic on this forum lately? I would like to believe all these threads aren't getting started by kids who just bought their Z on the cheap...but I can't. What most of you aren't taking into consideration is that the 350Z was a $30K+ sports car so when quality tuner companies like HKS created parts they were priced accordingly. Do you think they are going to lower the price of their parts just because the resale value of the car is now low? No. But on the other hand any one of these "thread starters" aren't going to justify spending over $1,000 on a part for their $9,000 car...unless it's a turbo kit. Funny how they find the money for those.
At any rate, spitting off about Lambos and Ferraris is a little redundant. Just because they are in a different tax bracket doesn't mean they aren't spending the same percentage of money on mods...again, they are priced accordingly. A $2,000 exhaust on an exotic is probably equivalent to a replica on our car.

Yes I used plastidip on my Z and I love how it looks. I have also gotten many compliments around town so I honestly don't care what a bunch of kids think. Unlike some of you z owners I worked my *** off to earn my car. It wasn't handed down to me by my parents
I stole my Z

I used to have an HKS exhaust on my Z...six years ago ( still a great part, but not enough for me ). And is the Z that old that "parents" are handing them down to their kids? Jezust. I feel old...

Not even sure who Dandiggz is refering too. Most of the "kids" are the one going in the 350z "age thread" and posting the "bought my 350z all by myself" replies.

I wouldn't say they are handing them down, but the price tag for some of the early models is definitely hitting that 'parents buying their teen a first car' demographic. Explains the plasti-dip phenomenon. They're seeing it for the $9,000 car it is vs the $34,xxx that some of us purchased it for. I just can't justify spray painting various parts of the car. Its even hard for me to justify hydro-dipping some other interior pieces but I just may.

Exactly ^

You boast about how you worked your *** off for this car just like all the other kids on this forum. Good job bro, bit of financial advice. Cars are a depreciating asset, great job on your investment. You worked your *** off for something that won't be worth what you paid for it in a year. Post again when your out of college and learned some sense bro.

Blue350Zed, your HR is on boosted setup? I used to check out your blue HR is doing the last dyno pull on full NA setup on YouTube video, before you switch to boosted. Please, post some video on boosted setup. I want to see more update on your beautiful Blue 350Z. What was the number on your last NA setup? It is obvious your boosted Z number is in your signature. 620whp, what's a beast. How is it feel like with 620whp on tap compare to your NA setup? I am in the process to run my HR full NA setup with 3.8L stroker kit and tomei 280 cams. I just want to know what stroker kit and cams you end up using? How does it come out?

I always see "Mommy and daddy got you that Z" from the older people on this forum and "I'm in my teens and paid for it myself" from the younger members on this forum. Why

Nick, best advice is not to listen to these forum fools who only come here to put people down and think they are better than everyone else. I live in Miami where its all about image and status. I have been in the bike and car scene for 15+ years so i have seen my share of ricers and squids. Im not here to put anyone down and I only try and help people out when i can. I can 100 percent assure you that plastidipping is not ricer at all, i can honestly justify spraying plastidip because it honestly looks good. they have a website dedicated to the stuff and they plastidip audis and high end cars all the time. I want to see one of these jerks go over to that site and call them ricers to see if they have the *****. I have seen gtr's, mercedes and lambos on plastidip and i can assure you again that they are no ricers. Once again dont listen to these guys and their smartasss remarks. As long as you dont go overboard you will be ok. Oh and guess what? If you dont like it you can always take it off. Remember what the other guy said, its YOUR car and you do what you want as long as it looks good to YOU, no matter what other people think. I apologize that you had to come to this forum seeking honest advice and got dissed by these guys. Not everyone on these forums are asssholes

You must really like the high school Honda meets on 137ave and 120th dont you.

Plastidip is not rice if done minimally. The main issue is that 99% of plasti-dippers over do it, hence why people are flaming. I have seen my share of plastidipped Gtrs and Lambos in Miami as well, and their owners think they are sooooooo cool cause they blacked out their badges

When done correctly plastidip ( much like the Fake HKS exhaust ) can make any car look good, overdo it an your car will be ridiculed, as will you.

I agree with dandiggz. Although I think plasti dipping hondas, or cheaper cars is a complete waste of money. I have a problem with plasti dipped emblems, but that's because I think they should be metallic or not there at all. On the other hand, a lot of douches do plasti dip and think they are tough ****, and have a nice car. If anything that's what gives plasti dip a bad name. Like dandiggz said, there's a whole website/community behind it and they plasti dip higher end audis (although im only a fan of the r8). There's a right and a wrong way, and a lot of people have this problem, giving the negative more attention. In the end though, if I could afford wrapping, I'd tear that plasti dip off and pay for it to be done. I don't plasti dip though.

I live in LA, where everything is about image and status. Your not hot **** for living in Miami. Thats why everything in Florida looks like its from California. I also live in Las Vegas too, and I see high end cars all the time on the strip and around town just like i do when im at home in LA, with NO plasti-dip. Want to know why? its because they dont put cheap **** on their car. Those "high-end" cars you see in Miami with plastidip on them are rice. Point blank.

Hey Mike, i know what u mean about the emblems. FYI, they have a plastidip glossifiyer that comes in metallic too. Adds an extra layer of protection and gives it that metallic look you want. PS, Stuart you are an idiot. POINT BLANK....oh and those little emoj's that you love to use says alot about your manhood.

What I don't understand is why you attacked dan. All he did was state a fact. It may happen in LA as well so what? Not everything in Florida and LA look the same. Cali gets a lot of asian and hispanics while florida is just mainly hispanics. You act like he talks as if he is higher than everyone just because he stated where he lived an his opinion.. That's pretty poor deductive logic behind your statement. People everywhere get plasti dip, EVERYWHERE. God, sometimes I feel like people just spout with their emotions like chicks instead of being rational like they should be.
