NEW TO 350z.. CHEAPEST/BEST LOOKING APPREANCE MODS.
I don't care if my neighbor has one, I just care that a high school kid has one that ruins the car's reputation and legacy by turning it into the next honda civic or scion tc
I dont think high school kids getting z33s is a problem at all. When i went to hs everyguy had a wrx and every girl had a bmw 3series. Do those cars have a bad rep? Or depreciation in value? Not really. Its a compliment to its timeless appeal, and keeps them relevant. If anything it keeps the value high.
Im pretty sure my newish silverado pissed off some old guys with the same car when i was in hs. But hell i was workin 40hrs a week at a video store, while getting good grades, #1on my tennis team, and starting on the football team. And never got in trouble like my dumbass friends.
With all this gangster idolization and thug bs, when i see a kid with a nice car i think, 'cool', they must be good kid and may bennefit society in the future. Not grr im so jealous i have the same car.
Go get a slow *** rx7fd or nsx.

I love my new z.. Ive had it for about 24 hours. It is a 2003 white 350z with 120,000 miles in great shape. I am a huge fan of plasti-dip an im dipping my wheels tommorow. Im also considering dipping my roof and maybe my hood and trunk lid. Does anybody have any suggestions?
if you want to mod your car do it right and don't be cheap
My suggestions if you have some respect for your car
1. OEM 06+ bixenon headlights (around $800 used)
2. OEM 06+ front bumper (anywhere from $500-$2k used or new)
3. OEM 06+ led tail lights (anywhere from $350-$600 used or new)
4. Coilovers ($300-$2k used or new)
5. Quality wheels/wheel spacers ($200 for spacers - $2k for good wheels)
leave the car alone if you don't plan on spending good $ on it for mods
lol damn man

Man the anger in this thread is way uncalled for. I don't care what any of you guys have done. Get over yourselves. OP is excited for his new toy. He should be allowed to be excited. I'm happy he's excited. Though I hope he doesn't ruin what is already an awesome platform.
That said, OP, I wouldn't recommend dipping more than your badges. Maybe the rims but not body panels. As far as inexpensive mods go you'll have to do your research. It takes a lot of time but you'll be much better off. Craigslist is an awesome resource for deals. I've seen the 19" G35 rims going for as little as $375 a set around here. Take those and some spacers and you'd be good. Good set of lowering springs are already inexpensive but save up for some good shocks soon after. You might try a front lip and cutting out the grill. Replace it with a race style grille mesh if you want. Changing your front reflectors looks good and is inexpensive too. For little boost and little spend try the K&N drop-in filter and changing the tube. Pick up the Motordyne 5/16" plenum spacer on Ebay. Seems to be cheapest there. Then until you go FI, you'll be more than fine with a single out exhaust. Don't get too raspy lest you risk more flaming. From the forum that is. If you can get away with test pipes then go for it. Used ones will be just fine. For brakes you can look for the Akebonos from the G's are another option versus the Brembos.
Just have fun with that Z man. We all really love our Z's & G's. Since we're pretty passionate about them we get a little overprotective.
Have fun!

i've learned a lot from this thread. not that i intended to rice out my car or anything. lol. But it's good to know that the 350z is a respected platform. all i've ever owned was nissans, 2 240sx and 1 350z, and i love them all. But ever since tokyo drift it seemed like every honda fanboy dropped out of the "honda game" and started "getting sideways." I see none of that here, even after everyone bashed the OP, they all seemed to have a mature standpoint. thanks guys. lol.
i ain't got time to be reading peoples' post on here, i just read the original post lol
how can we tell him all his mod ideas suck without sounding mean?
