If it happens again, octane boost.

^The moment I realized it I filled it all the way up with premium. I've never heard an engine sound so horrible.

After filling the rest of the way up everything went back to normal. Idc if anyone says you can run regular, the gas door says premium for a reason.

I would say I'm sorry to say this but I'am not. For the people that seriously complain about how high gas prices are. You need to change your priorities on what you spend your money on if gas is hurting you that bad.

I have a 350z and have filled with 87 (occasionally 89) for 10 years, and the car runs perfectly.

As @terrasmak (one of the most knowledgable on my350z.com) mentions, you will need to change plugs more often if you fill with 87.

why would the plugs wear out faster? doesnt even make sense.

the only thing that running 87 octane is gonna do it push you down to the det timing map in the ecu. less timing, worse gas mileage.

its not gonna hurt the car, its not gonna blow up

i guess since your causing more detonation, the plugs are being used more. ^

This will happen

Don't mind me asking, but why for fck sake are you using regular octane? It says you can use it a few times if you have no choice but don't make a habit out of it. If your cheaping out on the gas then trade your car in and get a prius or some other gas saver. You bought a sports car because of it's performance and looks. If your concerned about gas but still want a sports car then get a Mazda miata.

I hope you're kidding which I know you are. Its whether it knocks or not. If it doesn't knock on regular it makes no difference.

It will detonate slightly before the ECU pulls timing, when it detonates it will/can damage the tiny electrode on the plugs we run. This will cause them to have a shorter life.

The first car I have had that requires premium, and that is all I am going to put in it. Ever.

All I can say is my Z got 30 MPG. Drive like a luxury, plus depending on your mods you should get 30 MPG. So, premium gas to me is just like paying for regular.

I think this is a stupid question but. What if half my gas tank is filled with 91 and then I fill it up completely with 87. Would there be any problems? Sorry again if its a complete noob question. I really have no knowledge of gas and cars lol.

This has nothing to do with^^^^^no knowledge of gas and cars.

It has to do with your lack of brain matter. You should not be driving a car.

Figure out first if it's OK to mix raspberry flavor with ice tea, then move on to gasoline.
