What is different in the 350z and g35c engine? What makes the 350z faster?

Engine wise, not much different. The intake on the G35C is probably a bit more restricted, as is the exhaust. That accounts for the minor HP differences most likely.

As for the real acceleration differences, I'd put that down to the G35C weighing 100 lbs or so more.

I thought it was closer to 200lbs.

but its not that much slower. your answer may come more effectivly in what the exact weight difference is, not using nissans claims.

You're probably right, but that is why I said "or so". I was thinking it was around 150, but I was being intentionally vague because I was too lazy to look it up
