Speakers etc can be pretty personal as far as what someone likes/dislikes. Buy quality such as JL, Hertz, Polk, Alpine, etc and you'll probably be happy. I was amazed at the low quality of the factory speakers when I removed them. Almost anything will be an improvement. You can get an aftermarket sub box that fits behind the driver's seat on *bay. It's a small space so if you go that route be sure to match the speaker to the volume of the box.

A couple gotchas; be prepared to use about a 1" spacer on the door speakers to clear the windows. There's a thread somewhere with a list of speakers and spacer required. Even though you don't have a power antennae you need to connect the lead. The Z's is amplified and uses the signal to turn on the amp. Good luck and welcome!

I am selling my complete custom front stage. All you need is some amps and a Headunit and your set. I also have all of my wiring and RCA's. If you have any questions on how things work or needing to be disassemble let me know. I also have those custom 1 inch spacers ChevChelios was mentioning with sealing foam already on them

Also look into z enclosures they make custom sub boxes that fit underneath the rear support.

Here is my post My Custom Front Stage for sale

Let me know if u have any questions

I did my whole system earlier this yr here are the components i used , my goal was a super clear system.

Polk Audio DXi6500 6.5" Component Speaker System , x2 for the front and back speakers
Kenwood KDC-BT752HD CD Receiver, as my headunit
JBL GTO-5EZ 5-channel system amplifier, amp i used really easy to tune.
JBL GTO1014D 10" dual 4-ohm Component Subwoofer , as the sub used a custom box from a guy locally was listed on ebay for $79.99 perfect for the size. fits under the rear sway bar. You will have to drimmel out the tweeter area but its not difficult took me like 3 hours to install all this including hiding every single wire, i put the amp in the glove box behind the passenger seat. if your order through crutchfield they include all the extra mounting brackets and wiring stuff you need you get like $150 worth of free hardware.

Default system

i did my system a couple years ago so speakers etc. may not be available but here is my set up.

rewired the entire car with monster 16 gauge wire. wiring the front speakers through the door harness was difficult but the ONLY way in my opinion. 0 gauge power from battery to cubby behind driver seat. 1 JL 300/4 4 channel amp and 1 JL 500/1 monoblock amp.
Polk DB series 6.5 speakers in front doors and polk DB series coaxials in the rear. FATMAT every exposed metal area behind door panels and plastic interior panels. Made a big difference.
In the hatch i have 2 JL W3's mounted in a zenclosure box under the strut bar. Kenwood touchscreen headunit, forget the model, but i had a pioneer x710 previously but got stolen. Pioneer is superior to kenwood and most other brands that ive had as far as headunits go. i know nothing about their speakers etc. If you have any questions hit me up ill be glad to help.

I third that. Stay away from bestbuy.

Anyway, I redid my system in all JL Audio about 2 years ago. I downsized to a single amp, a JL Audio HD900/5. I used that to power my front components, rear speakers, and 2 x JL 10"subs in the JL box they make for the 350z. Sounds awesome, amp doesn't take up any space at all as I put it in my cubby behind driver side, and the whole system looks stealth minus my head unit.

Look around the crutchfield site, they have some good info.

I bought a pioneer fh-x700bt double din unit to replace my bose head unit . It was fairly inexpensive about 120.00 compared to some other double units. and I think its improved the sound on the bose but then again I never had a problem with the bose. I do love having the blue tooth audio and the different display color options. It also has a slot fore an aux cable and usb.

So replacing the Bose head unit and keeping the stock speakers and subwoofer will work?
