OP if your mechanically retarded why would you try to install the plenum spacer yourself?

and if you listened to everyone, you lost some low end torque, not a lot, but your car isnt going to feel "faster" till you add other things like an exhaust maybe and a tune. The spacer is for higher end power, so your going to feel it pull faster in the higher rpms. Please, dear god, please research the parts and what they do to your car before you install anything else.

wtf guys why are we entertaining this bullshiit.

this is still going on? lol.. dude you get on these forums to learn about these cars. if you do enough research, you can learn to do your own oil change, change your own sensors, and do your own maintenance so you can save some money. most of us here are passionate about cars, thats why were here. yea they might break your *****, so what? its the internet man, grow a pair.

OP, i think you are making the right choice by taking it to nissan. I didnt know crap about the car when i got it, i got in touch with a local DIY guy to me and started turning wrenches on my car with him... and now he calls me when he needs a hand with things and i am doing things that i would have never known how to do before... rear diff bushings, front upper control arms, coilovers, etc. see if there is someone like that to you, Rude may be a good resource to get you in the right direction

OP, this may or may not be related to your problem. But atleast read it. You can use it as a comparison to how you did the installation. You might catch something in my thread that may help you. Whether it helps solve your problem or not, knowledge is power:

Funn how people say "add intake, add exhaust" yet I also read the stock intake box and exhaust are almost perfect and adding new ones will add basically nothing. Who do I believe?

It's true with certain setups you lose power. The benefit usually comes after the tune or a different exhaust is usually lighter than stock resulting in minor weight savings. My setup has all been positive gains without a tune so imagine the gains after. Keep in mind like what a lot of people here said, peak power might decrease but the part will spread the power out more evenly at either a higher rpm or lower rpm.

How much is a tune? And is it even worth it after only adding a spacer?

Im gonna call nissan today and get a quote on a compression test and if its bad then ill get the sensor/harness looked at.

Im thinking of just removing the spacer all together, it seems like a wast of $$ imo. But the fact my car doesnt sound "meaner" now makes me think I F'ed it up.

90% of the comments/reviews have all said it "makes the Z sound meaner"

^^This. You can put on as many bolt on as you like, but it won't make any real significance. All the "extra power" is really just a bunch of fart can noise and is all in your head. You won't see a real difference until you get a tune after your bolt-ons are installed. A good tune will run about $500...

How is it eating you alive? Wait until you can actually afford modding.

What can I tell you? It may be a cheaply priced car nowadays used, but it's still expensive to mod. Sorry big haus, but it's gonna run you a lot more than a Civic...

Well buy a single turbo kit or twin turbo. Or enjoy what you got.
If you wanted bang for your buck you should get an old 240sx and boost the Ka and call it a day.

yeah and how much will a turbo+labor run me? Also im at 77K miles and stuck with a 5yr loan, id like the engine to not blow up on me.

I should have gotten a used RSX-S for like 9k and supercharged it for like 3K and had relibility and power.

It runs fine stock. Or are you trying to compensate for something?

Its just I kinda expect to be able to beat a n/a 2.0 4 banger with 197hp with a 3.5 v6 with almost 300hp my pride is kinda hurt here. I expected more from this car honestly. I think my old VR6 jetta was as fast as the Z.

STI yes, turbo Civic, I don't think so. Don't quote me on it however, but I've seen times. Then again, every car is different and I'm sure any car can be built to be faster than it's counterpart. A NA tuned Z will outrun the turbo Civic from what I've seen...
