Default 350z totaled insurance value HELP guts

here what i dont know want to do. my cars totaled. insurance whats to give me (4,226.87) my cars worth 9,800 from what they told me, plus i get taxes add to that which comes out to be 10,555 (does know why i get taxes added to it and i live in NJ). since apparently it was half my fault i getting offered 50% of it which is (4,226.27) and not (5277.50) "because" after they do the total worth the "gross value" comes out to be (8,453)/2. which is (4,226). Also, with salvage of my Z i get an extra 21 hundred should i do that? how do i get more money?

can someone explain to me what the gross value is coming from where they are deducting more money and how do i get 5 G's instead of . because there practically saying my cars worth 8 instead on 10. insurance is super sneaky plus they got all the power i need help

LAstly, im looking in getting another Z what do you guys think about getting one with 100k, 135k, or 150k do you think id be okay with a Z with that many miles?

I would talk to your agent about the explanation. Understand what they are telling you 100% before you leave. If it still doesn't seem right, report back?

High mileage cars in general are hit and miss. The VQ engine is extremely reliable as long as it is well maintained. If you can find one that has been cared for, you should be fine at 100k

We cannot help you with advice on negotiating with your insurance since we have no details on HOW the accident occurred. We also have no idea of what kind of insurance you have or if this is the other driver's insurance. Were there traffic tickets issued in this case?

As for high mileage Zs, you really need to find one with good maintenance and be ready to deal with plenty of small parts that'll need replacing.

Why don't you just buy full coverage. If you are 100% at fault they will pay you out 100%

Default Z is totaled getting 50% help guys

heres how the accident happened i "rear ened" the guy in front of me and then i got rear ended by the lady.

here what i dont know want to do. my cars totaled. insurance says (im dealing with the ladies insurance that rear ended me not my insuracne) my Z is worth 10,555.35 and i should be getting half of that. when i spoke to the lady this after noon she said since they are paying 50% of what my cars worth so they're intitled to the salvage value of my car. (they arent taking my car from me but, there taking the value of what it would be if i brought it to salvage and they gave me money).there taking 2101.80 from my check. is this how it works or is that total ********?

So instead of getting 5,277.5 for my car the ladies insurance company wanted to give me 4,227.86

Seems like there are a lot of factors to consider,is the ladie's insurance company holding you at 50% fault or holding her at 100% fault usually depending on police report will help determine that, you should first start there. If no one is deemed at fault you may have to take what they after you and run with it you may be able to negotiate a bit on there offer.

Otherwise you can do one or two things, if the car is fixable find a ligit bodyshop and negotiate with them on doing the repairs with the insurance money,or take the car and part it out and sale as much as you can for parts and take that money and the insurance money and purchase a new car or take the money and put it down,as a down payment and finance the rest of it on a new car. I wouldn't be to hasty on making my decision take your time and look at every angle and situation GL!!!!

That explanation makes little sense- who was issued a ticket in this case? If you hit another car, did your insurance pay for your damage and theirs? Have you involved your insurance agent is this fight? If not, why not?

Your insurance should pay for the guy that you rear ended, the woman's insurance should pay you as she rear ended your car and the money you receive for your car is yours. She has no claim on what is rightfully yours as she crashed into you!

So do you talk to an insurance company when you need info on your 350? Probably not, unless maybe your agent is a car guy/gal. So why ask insurance questions on a car forum? I never get that. YOUR insurance company should be dealing with this, assuming you have full coverage.

To the original poster..........Do you have full coverage insurance? If so, your insurance should take care of your car. If not, you are at the mercy of the other insurance company.

Yea I don't fully get this. I thought you're supposed to get what the car is currently worth as you are paying insurance for that value, regardless of fault. You're rates will go up if you're in fault but again, you're paying for that valued insurance. Your insurance company should be working with both insurance companies; car in front and car behind. Either way whoever pays whatever %, all drivers should be getting the worth value, as long as everyone has full coverage.

I'm no insurance agent, but I thought that's how it works in the case of an accident.

Most likely answer is OP lacks any type of collision insurance and is only dealing with the other driver's insurance. Sucks, but that's what they signed up for...

OK looking at both posts, and interpreting what you think is English, Here is what I see:

You dont have collision insurance, just basic liability.
You were involved in a 3 car accident where you are the creamy middle.
You are 50% at fault because you struck the car in front of you
The driver behind you is 50% at fault because she struck you
Her insurance is totalling your car, and since you are 50% at fault would normally payout $5277.50
However
Since her insurance is not getting possession of the car they are deducting 50% of the buyout, leaving you with $4226.60

Sounds about right to me, if the value of $10,555 is close to correct for your z, and the buyout price is $2101.80

In my opinion, whoever drives around in a car worth anything substantial....without full coverage...is just crazy.
