2003 Nissan 350z good to buy ?
thanks for the quick reply, i contacted the seller and he said that the car has 3rd gear syncros problem but the car still drives. The grind only happens when going fast but for daily driving no issues. My friend had a similar problem with his syncros a few years back. I would have to replace the transmission but its at low price so it would make sense to me.
That car has been beat for sure. I would pass there are better ones out there for not much more $ than you will have in the purchase and transmission replacement. Esp if you need someone else to do the trans. Find one that has been babied (garage kept with good paint) then high miles wont matter.

I wouldn't go higher than 4k for it... Im guessing the ebay bid will end in the 5k area... For that price you could find something with lower miles and not needing a transmission overhaul.
I'd stay away from that if I were you. Looks like some kid had the time of his life with it and is now trying to sell his problem to someone else. Those plastidipped wheels and.. taillights... look terrible and I bet it has engine problems if the transmission needs work.
Having dealt with a high mile 350z that was not maintained well, I can tell you it is not fun. My z was 5500 with 180k miles but had a good trans and ran well, so we thought then. It ran good when I was driving it once a week (only got to drive to scouts every monday with my dad due to my permit.) but once I got my license and drove it every day it did not take long. I think I drove it for 1500 miles before problems started to show. This summer the motor went on it. I would pass even for that price, he even tells you the car was not maintained well. Sure he might have done the oil changes and things in the past xxxxx miles he had owned it, but that can not undo what the previous owner did.
The subs should give t away that it belonged to some kid. Also with that many miles I would assume it needs more than a transmission. I would not touch this car even for $3k. It has not been well maintained.
No!
That Z is used and abused. The mods and shape scream out some kid who wanted a car to show off in. And for the current $3,600 its not worth crap.
Find a more expensive better Z, or hit up the auto auctions like I did and find one cheap if your looking to repairs. I picked mine up for $2,350 + fees. I need a couple more parts and my Z should be done at around $5,500 range finished with 50k on the clock.
At least until I go turbo with it

Here is one in much better shape w only ~5200 miles. Other than the wheels there isnt much to replace. Id still get it checked out by a mechanic, but it looks like a much more solid buy:

I would say spend more money and buy a newer one with less miles. But if money is issue and u know how to work on cars yourself, it's not bad. But still usually used cars with high mileage your taking a gamble. Good luck.
