Enjoyed the video, car seems very settled and controllable, what new tyres did you get?

Went with the same since they were so good to me. Potenza RE-71R.

Tire shop called me and said they couldn't get any of the tires to seal on the rims. I double checked with them when I ordered. 255's on a 8.5" rim. They looked it up and confirmed they would fit.

They had problems last time also but this is just crazy. Told me they spent about 4 hours trying to get them to seal.

Tires were so dead also. I mean, dead, belt showing on one of the front dead. I was about 10 seconds slower than usual. Hope I see him back there on the 19th with new tires and brakes on the Z.

Along with the new rubber. I replaced the front rotors, Fluid, racing pads and seen a small crack starting in my top rad hose... so I replaced that too.

I met a guy at the track that worked for Hawk Performance last time I was there. We talked about pads, I told him I didn't have good experience with HAWK. So he sent me a set to try out. I figured, since they were free, I should advertise for them while they are on.

Man that video was hard to watch for a while.... You should stage closer to the front I think you kept up with that Porsche very well! He did take a different, possibly better line in that straight with the finish line where he got you initially. Would be curious which line is faster there. We use Hawk HP+ pads, definitely cheaper than the carbotech ones you use but I think they bite well and hold up to heat. I'm going to be interested to hear what you think of the Hawks you're using vs carbotech.

Out of curiosity, how much do those wheels weigh? I've been scoping for some rpf1's to save on weight, we're using 17's though. I love the RE71R's though, highly doubt there's another tire out there that performs better for the money.

Yeah man, I was fighting low grip with my tires. I hope to see him there again this week for a rematch. I do have to say, that driving against the Porsche was all a driver mod. His line through the esses was awful.
I will come back with info on the Hawk pads. Looks like the ones I have on now are about 4 level higher than the Hawk pads I used previously. I know my driving style is HARD on brakes.

Talking stock rims? Truthfully, I have no clue. LOL. I got them because they were cheap and convenient at the time.

Next track day is, Aug, 19th.

Ok, New Re71-R's are great. Loads of grip. The Hawk pads, I'm sold, not going back to Carbo Tech. They are cheaper than Carbo and IMO, had a better bite even when hot.
The issue I had this time was I didn't replace my rear rotors. I thought they were going to be fine, I was incorrect. Loads of vibration in the back. So, now I have to get a set or rears.
The other issue I am having is the clutch seems to be slipping on the big up hill, right sweeper. I have a new clutch and pressure plate in the garage though.
Need to figure out why I am loosing audio on the last part of every recording on Track Addict.

I'm liking my Xp10/8 combo. Its my first aggressive pad. Interesting you like the hawks over the carbotechs. One of my friend is running that pad on his Z as well and he likes it. I might grab those 8s from you next time i'm swapping new pads! Some of these guys are going through pads every 3 or 4 events! I'm still half life even after 4 events! i'm not braking hard enough!
