Default very hot exhaust

Just installed my Invidia n1 catback after only driving it for about 10-15 minutes the exhaust tips were very very hot to the touch, almost burned my finger by touching it also noticed smoke coming out of the exhaust after turning the engine off and a smell coming from the exhaust which I assume is normal and will go away in a few days ?

Smell goes away but seriously who knew the exhaust would get hot? I highly suspect that will continue especially after driving around for extended periods.

Well, considering your average exhaust gas temperature is a few hundred degrees, I'd imagine your exhaust would get pretty hot.

The leak could be a gasket problem. It could also be a "you didn't tighten it enough, or tightened it improperly" problem. Unbolt it, check the gasket, and bolt it back. See if that fixes it.

New exhausts have that coating to protect themselves. It gets burned off after the install causing lots of smoke. I went through two new exhausts set-up and all do that. You have a leak, fix it.
