Default Dumb Donor Question Need Help Motor Blown

Dumb donor question but my engine is flooded out. Ended up getting Exact same VQHR From an wrecked AT shell.
Trying to find a thread that has the things I’ll need to Upgrade and finish moving the new donor to the new car

I could be wrong, but I don't think you need anything. To be clear your original Z is a 07-08 6MT? You're not trying to convert an auto-trans over to a 6MT?

If that is the case, you should be able to re-use all the existing components from the original engine/trans. The main difference will be the flexplate for the auto-trans. Just swap your flywheel and clutch over from the old engine. I'm not sure on the mileage, but it would be recommended to replace or upgrade the clutch hydraulics, inspect items like motor mounts, steering rack, trans mount, and maybe replace gaskets while you're at it. There's a oil galley gasket that commonly fails on the HRs within the timing case (causes major oil pressure loss), I would replace that on the donor engine before it goes in the car. If you want to be thorough, do a deep cleaning in the engine bay while it's empty.

Good Luck!

Now is also the best time to slap on a twin-turbo setup.

You won't need anything. The main thing to remember is to pull out the pilot bushing and replace it with a 6MT bushing and that you can't use the bolts from the 5AT to hold your flywheel on. You will need the bolts from your 6MT.

Why are you guessing? Your original ECM should work with the replacement VQ35HR. Switching the donor ECM over to your manual Z will not help.

And while you're swapping convert the slave cylinder to external setup. Thank me later.
