Default Smoke help + more

I have a 04 Z. Little over 100k. Second owner and since I’ve had it the car has been giving me issues.

primarily it’s blue smoke so I’m burning oil. I pulled plugs and checked compression they’re all around 165-170. I did the check warm. I’ve installed a catch can to try and narrow things down and it’s still blowing blue. I noticed that with my test pipes on there is less restriction and the smoke is more visible. It puffs out smoke when I come to a stop after downshifting through gears, which to me points to valve seals or guides.

also and having p1273 and p1283. So I changed both wide band upstreams and ran a live data check. It appears to me that my bank 2 could have a damaged injector, as the long fuel trim goes far negative compared to bank 1.

i also recently noticed tiny pools of oil around the bank 2 coils so I think maybe bad tube seals.

please give me any feedback that could help me continue to narrow down my exact issues so I can fix this thing.

Hello and welcome.
Problems like this are usually caused by extended oil change intervals. Black smoke out the exhaust indicates an oil leak mostly burned. Blue smoke smoke means more than can be burned is leaking into cylinder(s). Your middle plug is pretty fouled.
Suggestions- put high mileage oil in it and do a leak-down test. Could be worn valve guides which means head work or at the least an additive to prevent this problem. With more than 1 oil problem check your level often. GL!

Did this Z come with any maintenance records? I agree with JHC's assessment of long oil change intervals, as nothing degrades the precision built VQ35DE faster than dirty oil. How much oil consumption over 3K miles are you seeing currently?

I haven’t tracked the oil consumption as I don’t drive the car that much while I’m working on it. And when I do I only commute a couple miles. Plus I hate this dipstick lmao. I roughed it up to help check the reading. But I’ll track it. I have more images I’m gonna post.

Well, let's start with how long have you owned this Z? When was the oil/filter last changed?

Here's a thread on how to get an accurate oil level with the dipstick:

Oil was changed 1k ago. I check my oil exactly that way. Except after taking out the dipstick I wait a few min to let any oil dragged up the tube go back down.

I’ve had this car almost a year. Put almost 2k on it in that time because it’s never been running great.

Idle

1500 rpms

Tried to hold 2500 rpms

From cold start

Close to a min after startup

what should the o2’s be picking up? I posted the live data which is the fuel trim being adjusted from what the o2’s are reading. As far as the heads I don’t have any overheating.
The compression check was good. No sign of oil and coolant mixing.

I guess a good question I’m looking to get answered, is if my injector is leaking or not flowing at the correct flow, could it be seeping down and thinning the oil enough to cause it to be why I’m blowing out blue smoke. I’m going to try and change injectors but if it’s gonna by valve seal or guide issue then it’s kinda pointless as I’d be looking for a new block to swap in here

Why would you try to swap a shortblock into your Z if it's valve seals or guides that are worn?
