Engine Swap my 350z
There are dozens of active members on this board who can help you with a built engine / turbo setup / supercharger setup.
There are only 5 or 6 members in the past 10years that have JZ swapped a Z and maybe one is still mildly active.
With that being said, start a build thread to document your progress and we'll help you out as much as we can.
If you wanted something other than a VQ why did you get a Z? Sounds a bit childish, no offense, and a built VQ will be better than the stock swap you will most likely do. It also will not live up to the desire of a "mini GTR ", at least get a RB26 if you must swap....SMH.
If you're going to do it, do a 2JZ or RB. Royalty Performance has RB swap mounts for the 350 now I believe. Might be worth checking out.
Yeah I appreciate that. Really still up in the air. Working with a company by me that has done the swap before. Only reason I would like to go 1jz is because after surpassing 400hp on a VQ, it becomes unreliable. However open minded to what adjustments may need to be made. a built DE may be the easier route as some of the comments expressed. Which does interest me. I deffinetly plan to replace the trans/ clutch etc. anyways. Still a lot to think about.
Thanks to you other guys/girls for the comments. Dope we all can come together during these times and discuss the **** we love

When/if you want to build, a basic/moderate build plus boost should get you to the 550whp range with proper supporting mods on a VQ. I still think it's a cheaper route than going for a full engine swap in the long run.
I'm not sure where the 400hp unreliable threshold narrative came from, but I believe it to be antiquated and based on old information. The issues I've primarily seen are related to tuning, driving style, and the way torque is introduced into the engine. I have seen several 450-500whp builds on stock blocks that have lasted a long time. Supporting mods, driving reasonably (i.e. not hammering off the redline all the time), and strong tuning go a long way. A basic Vortech setup with some additional mods should safely get you there.

I'm running roughly 410tq(crank) on a stock 03 block with 145k miles at around 3500rpm and I would trust this for another 50k miles.
This is a dreamer thread and will never happen.
