Tou, another option open to you is a higher ratio on your differential "final gear". This will give the car more wheel torque, which means higher acceleration. This mod trades drive axle speed for torque, straight out of the power equation: Power = Torque X RPM. Unless you have a place to stroke the car out to 155mph, all that top-end speed is going unused. If you do have a place to buzz along at 140+ mph, I'm very jealous!

With a high-ratio final gear, you'll be extremely quick off the line. A tire change might be in order to help the rear wheels stay stuck. You'll need to refine your shifting reflexes to match, too, since you'll hit redline quickly in 1st and 2nd. A spring adjustment for more weight transfer to the rear wheels would help, but at the expense of power-on understeer in corners. This is why car setup provides endless entertainment: so many ways to balance and tweak. What works for straight-line performance stinks for road racing. If you do multiple activities, there are lots of excuses to get your hands dirty.

i8acobra's cam is for a Rev-Up and has 11.4mm lift at 262deg duration. JimWolfe website says 18-24 HP gain after engine tuning, so add another $400 or so for tuning.

Since it's a Rev-Up, some HP gain is due to the variable timing on the exhaust cam. I have a VQ35DE, same as the OP. Variable intake timing only.

The DE and revup won't be far off, if you already have uprev it could cost $400, if you don't it's gonna be closer to a grand.

There's nothing better than falling in love with your wheels my friend. These are the most underrated element of every car.
