If you suspect you need a new engine, take it to a professional. Perhaps not the stealership unless they have a solid reputation. But I would for sure have it looked at by a well known, experienced, honest shop (hard to come by these days). The information provided isn't enough for members of this forum to tell you with any certainty if you need a new engine or not. But as anecdotal as it may seem... any time I hear about metal shavings (large enough to clearly see with the naked eye) in engine oil, I prepare for the worst. There are methods to fix the broken off threads of the oil pressure sending unit, no need to junk a block over that. Also, for future reference, pictures or linked videos are always helpful. The more information the better (things like year, trim level, mileage, MT or AT, condition, mods, etc).
