hey guys i really need your help! i recently got a manual 2005 350z and i changed the oil last night. i used a full synthetic mobil 1 5-30 motor oil and got a mobil 1 oil filter. i have changed the oil on alot of different cars so this isnt new to me.
for some reason today i noticed while i was driving that my oil psi was all over the place! it seemed to be in sync with my RPM's . a.k.a - the hight my RPM went, the higher my oil pressure went. same for when i was idling, it was extremely low oil pressure. i have never had this problem happen when i changed oil so i have no idea what it could be!
i looked under the car to see if maybe i didnt put the bolt on tight enough or the new filter but nothing. then i checked my dipstick but the oil line was right in between the L & H. then i went to Orielly's to see if they had any idea and the guy told me to buy a synthetic oil stabilizer to help thicken it. so i did. i put 1 quart in and still nothing changed.
so now im asking for all of your guys' help!!! i dont know what to do??~?!?!?!?!

Nope its normal. The more I step on it the higher it goes cuz there is more pressure. With a cold start mine starts up at around the middle area. But if I start the engine when its warmed up itll start at low. Other than that when driving it it'll go all over the place depending on how you drive it.
The only thing you need to worry about is when you do a cold start the gauge shouldn't be too low or too high. If it looks unusual at a cold start that is when you worry about it.
I just got my car too. I am sure someone will explain it way clearer than I have haha.
So just make sure when you do a cold start it always starts around the same area... Right guys o_0

Rules of physics when fluids is cold, the viscocity of the oil cause it to have higher psi till it goes to normaloperating temp. Thats the reason people idle their car when it is cold.
Just make sure the pressure is not low which can means oil switch mafunction, oil leak ect ect!
