Question VQ35HR Synthetic Oil

I know, I have gone through search after search trying to get a basic answer on what is being used for synthetic oil. I want to switch to a synthetic oil for my 2007 350z. I keep reading that Mobil is a risk for oil consumption, as well as Royal purple. My car is a A/T and not raced, I just want the benefit of a good synthetic oil. What do the bay Area owners suggest for a choice? Amsoil, Castrol, please help out, thanks for the time on a worn out question.

Under normal driving condition Valvoline Synpower is downright great.

I've been using mobil1 full synthetic on 350z and previous audi for several years. No consumption problems here.

yeah ditto on mobil 1. i use it and no problems. the oil i get back out is nearly same i put in.

but have anyone tried to use Mobil 1 Extended Performance formula. i saw it at walmart. the package says good for 15K in normal driving conditions. just curious if anyone has done that? is it risky? i read that one of the myths about changing oil every 3000 is wrong since most engines were built to take 7500 miles before an oil change.

just asking.

There is an oil analysis thread on here, a search should find it ( and hopefully help)

Check with your Nissan Dealer. I use Castro Synethic. Excellent for the engine. The Nissan Dealer themselves even have it in stock also as they use Castro oil, all types on their various vehicles.

it all depends on how you drive, for me i drive hard and there isn't a moment where i don't stomp on it, so i change every 3000. But hey that's me

also as someone said before there is an oil analysis on this site so take a look at it.

Ive used Synthetic (Mobil 1 and Synpower) in 2 of my vehicles (Mazdaspeed6 and my 350hr) and I have never seen a problem with oil consumption. I change my oil every 5500 miles and when it comes out its still pretty clean. I dont think you will have a problem.
