Is it safe to boost my Z
I have a 05 350z with the vq35de. It has 259,xxx miles. These miles are mainly highway miles and it has been maintained meticulously. I want more power, I have a new intake and a tomei exhaust. I want to turbo the car but I don’t know with that many miles. I plan on doing a compression test to see if has full compression. Based off this information would it be safe to turbo the car? And if so how long would the engine last? Any tips and/or recommendations would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum -
A compression test will be your biggest indicator of engine health.
You can send a used oil sample off to Blackstone Labs and they can tell you what types/kinds of metal they find in the oil, how much, and what other engines are seeing from their database.
The best thing you can do, at your stage, is keep your expectations in-check. Most VQDE can take about 6psi to 8psi of boost and make 350 to 400hp all day long and live long healthy lives.
An alternate solution would be to build a block - Spend $3k to $5k and you can bump boost up and reach 600hp to 800hp.
You can look at what others have done and mimic/copy their builds to get to where you want to go.
Other things to consider for turbo’ing
You will need to upgrade your fuel delivery system?
How will you tune?
What turbo setup are you going to use?
Have you considered a supercharger?
You may need to upgrade your clutch / flywheel setup (assuming youre a 6mt)

It's not safe to your wallet to spend more than the car is worth on the project, but hey it's your car and YOLO.

I really appreciate all the info you provided. I have spent many hours considering my options and pricing different setups. 400whp would be plenty of power to satisfy my wants and needs, I live in a small town with little support for motorsports so there is not really any point/need to push more power. Thus said I'm thinking about a single turbo setup pushing low boost, I have a tuner about 2 hours from me and I could trailer my car there with no problem. My main concern is piping for the hot side, I don't currently own a welder nor any other equipment to fabricate the tubing. Another question that you may be able to help me answer would be the turbo itself, I've looked over multiple builds and am not sure what turbo would be best especially since I'm not looking for big numbers. I want to focus on price efficiency but don't want to skimp out on quality. I just upgraded my clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate to Z1's performance street clutch, lightweight flywheel, and sprung 6-puck pressure plate. What size fuel pump/injectors would I need for this setup? Thanks for all the help!

Look at buying a fabricated kit already … I wouldnt buy anything from ebay/amazon … but one that was built on a 350z from a reputable company. The ones that come from ebay/amazon are going to require some modification and are a pain in the *** to install.
For simplicity - have you considered the Vortech Supercharger kit? This ultimately be your best bet and be fully capable of 400hp.
I would consider a street-tune / e-tune from Moncef at Admin Tuning or Martin from RS-Ethaaannoophthldjlkfgdasyoiukjfdsak…

Trying to keep this build as budget as possible I see the rev9 turbonetics kit. I watched the donut boys install it and it didn’t make big horsepower nor was it an easy install but it sure was cheap.
