A/C compressor not engaging after Best Buy alarm install.
Sorry if this isn’t in the right location.
So, I know the A/C uses that stupid A/C power amp box underneath the radio. And they were definitely up in there when installing the alarm. So my guess is they ****ed up something in there.
Most likely used one of the wires for a 12v source or a ground and that’s why it’s not working. I’ve seen other people with this issue after radio installs too.
I know the compressor is good because I ran a direct 12v source to it and it kicked on instantly.
My question is:
Does anyone know precisely which wires to look for that could have been interfered with? I would like to have some sort of an idea before just ripping into it.
I honestly should have just installed it myself but they offered free installation so I figured “they know what they are doing”. Guess not…
Thank You in advance!
EDIT: Also… my outside air temp is reading “ - - - - “
on the multiguage now. I know the A/C box uses the ambient temp sensor too.
So I’m almost 100% certain it’s all related.

They might have tapped into some wires for the Unified Meter/Amp. That's the computer box that the ribbon cable runs into. There are multiple harness connections on the back side. Many modern stereos require a tap into the VSS wire. Perhaps one of these connections is loose or they messed something up there. That's where I would look next.
Depending on the depth of the install, they could have also messed with wiring around the battery box in the engine bay. For example if you installed an external amplifier. Next to the battery is the IPDM and a lot of wiring for various components.
What was the scope of the install? Just a head unit upgrade? Or did you go full blown speakers, amplifier, cameras, etc...
Cheers!
