yesterday I decided to take off VDC and hit the throttle at a stop light. I got off the line, and a little after 4500 RPM while on full throttle I noticed that the back tires were kinda skipping, not really gripping the pavement. Does anyone know why this is? I have driven much faster cars with more power and they seem to keep the power in line. Anyone else notice this happening and why it is going on?

 

wheel hop can be caused by a lot of things, including uneven pavement...

 

yeah was goin to save that.. also what was the temperature that day? and any rain?

 

what cars have you driven with more power that were notable to break traction at peak HP in 1st gear?

it was only about 60-70degrees out yesterday, you had to warm up the tires too.

 

I don't think the VDC off would cause that but TCS off on bad pavement might.

 

yeah it was probably bad pavement...i will have to find another place to wind it out

pavement...I agree. A little bumpy or uneven pavement will cause the wheel skip. Easy tiger, don't go driving off the road.
