Default Post your fuel economy

Nissan claimed 20 / 26. Ha, right...

My first tank I got only 18mpg... yes, I do a lot of city driving, but it's the same commute as I've always had in my Honda Accord (which got 27mpg city). A few notes before I get criticisms... my Accord got much better city gas mileage than other Accords, and I drove the **** out of that motor. Now with the Z, keep in mind that I wasn't pushing the revs since it was during the break-in period, but 18mpg city is simply awful.

I'm getting 21mpg on this tank, but 200+ miles have been highway driving... 50 miles on Skyline drive, and the rest at combined driving...

21 overall, best was 28 on the highway, worst was 14.5 with very spirited driving before break-in.

18-19 in city, normal driving.

On extended expressway trips, I get 25-26.5.

I wonder what I'll get w/ cruise control set at 55Mph? Hmm.. gonna try it on the way home (30 miles).

I think fuel economy is bad while breaking in. On the other hand, my 87 honda accord got 22 mpg, so 20 or so sounds OK for a speed demon car.

I went 335 miles and put in 14.2 gallons. That figures to 23.5 mpg combined city and highway with and without traffic.

20.8 on 2250 miles with 62 hours of driving. 1500 was on the interstate from AZ to MO. Slowly down from 25 when I arrived to MO at 1500. That would put me at a terrible 13 mpg running it hard around home for the last 750. Oh well its been fun

I have saved every gas receipt since I got the Z, and jot down the date, odo, trip, gas cost, quantity, and mpg in pen on the receipt (those thermal receipts fade after time). Just passed 4444 miles tonight. I fill up to capacity, no topping off, each time with 91 octane.

My work commute is 43 miles freeway, 5 miles streets. I put on about 360 miles every 3 days.

60% I drive conservatively. 30% I drive fast. 10% I beat the snot out of it.

Here are the results. My lowest MPG was 19.65, my highest 22.4. Average 20.3.

Got about 550 miles, one fill-up. Currently sitting at 22.8 on the trip computer. Haven't reset or anything. Been shifting just about constantly at 4000 (due to break in). Drove quite a few twisty mountain roads, but most miles on freeway. Average has been steadily climbing since I took it from dealer with 17 miles and 8 mpg average (kinda wonder what their PDI consisted of).

Usually on the way up the mountain I will loose a couple tenths, but the way down typically makes up for it.

Typically drive between 55-80 on highway (vary speed for break in). Mostly near 75-80

Not too much city driving.

I bet the milage will improve as the engine breaks in.
