Y Buy A 350 When I Can Buy A Sti!!!??
My reason for not getting the STI is I refuse to pay over $20,000 for a car with McPherson struts. It's as easy as that. The suspension on the 350Z is superior. You can throw tons of money at both and the 350Z will handle better. Guaranteed. Those upper control arms make all the difference.
Both have more than enough power for the street.

I am sorry, but for all these people that thin the Z helps get you girls.. it doesnt. What a lame argument. What girl in their right mind would go out with a guy cause he had a sporty $30k car? Im sorry, but that argument is BUNK.
Get a 350 for styling. Thats really all it has over the STi.

Go visit NYC sometime... check out francis lewis blvd, queens nyc. Last time I was on that, a jeep with 3 girls picked ME up.
In all practical sense, the STI and Evo 8 was what I really needed: great power, AWD (I ski), 4 doors, Brembo brakes, great handling, great pricing, and I do love watching WRC! But, I'm approaching my mid 30's I couldn't make the small-econobox-with-large-wing-look work for me. And, most of my family and friends would've wondered why I bought another sub-compact after I drove a Nissan Sentra for 10 years.
Even as I was mulling over the Sti and Evo, I also lusted after the Z for a year. I was ready to accept the fact that a stock Z may fall marginally behind the STi and Evo in overall peak performance, but it was still a fairly easy decision to make. I gave up 2 seats, 2 doors, some handling nimbleness, and AWD just because the Z had such fluid design (I like fine art too). I sometimes hang out in the garage just to stare at it, as I'm sure many Z owner do.
I don't have any regrets choosing the Z over the other two rockets. But, if you choose the Sti or Evo, I know you won't be disappointed.
Lastly, I never found it easy to pick up girls with any particular car. Lots of people have nice cars, but not very many have nice bikes. I found it much easier to pick up girls on my Ducati...they're fast, beautiful, and their exhaust note will make you melt. Since I used my bike to bait my now-fiancee, I'm probably going to put it up for sale to a desperate single male who's had no luck with the Z, LOL!!!

Yup. those Franny Lou girls are shallow.
Just how I like'em
why bash STI - it's nice little car..
Here is to what I would do in your place.
Test drive one
Test drive the other
think of the long term - (it is a new car you are buying after all)
how will you feel in 5 years.
+Nissan has less problems longterm than STi - turbos will break a lot more than non turbo car (where 14 psi is a whole bunch of wear and tear)..

Well, the fact that the STI has tested with fast mph numbers in the 1/4, is usually an indicator that it will be faster from a roll. I'm sure they are very close though. I hope they are close, hell, I'm trading in my STI for one!

check out any tests from a roll, and youll see a very different picture.

the STI may feel faster due to the turbo increasing HP, or possibly more squat in the rear under acceration. I havent really checked out the STI dyno curve to see if it slopes up sharply, or rode in one to see if itd squat under power. but both or combo of each may have given you the idea that it was faster at all speeds.
i think it comes down to your priorities. if you're mostly obssessed with performance, then get the sti. if styling is important to you, then get the z, which still has a LOT of performance. i could imagine going with either car and being happy. straightline performance is pretty awesome. being able to toast pretty much ANY car you're likely to encounter(depending on where you live) is pretty awesome too. it would be a hard choice for me as well. if i wasn't single though, i think it would be a no-brainer: sti.

you mean lower ET.
but of course they are faster, as they are getting a better launch... though from what Ive seen, they are getting like 13.3 at 106.
where most rwd cars running a low 13 would be closer to 110mph.
