Anybody purchase their Z in another state and have it shipped?
There is only one Z in the country with the stuff I want (LeMans Enthusiast Roadster). Should I purchase it from the dealer there (Maryland) and have it shipped to me (in Georgia)? Has anyone had experience with this? I so don't want to order from the factory and wait 3 months! It's convertible weather NOW in Atlanta!

I went thru a similar situation but not quite the same. I live in CO but was working in FL where I bought my Z. Purchase was about the same except they had to call the DMV in CO to determine the correct sales tax to charge. Sales tax will be based on your residence, not place of purchase.
I had the car shipped to CO for about $750 and didn't have any problems with the shipper. Do shop around though since there are some shady operations out there. Or you could just drive the Z from Maryland to Georgia. You could make that drive in a day easy.

The biggest advantage besides the drive home...reached those breakin miles sooner. Hard to do if you are always doing city driving. Everyone wants a piece of you and you have to hold back.
Also got a tax break

Road Trip?
Can I say road trip!!!!!
If the price is right at the other dealer then go get it.
I know several people in California that actually bought S2000's in Illinois b/c it was cheaper to than in California.
But the time to do that is during the winter when the midwest dealers are hurting to sell convertibles.
Just be wary of a huge market in Maryland b/c convertible weather is coming.
You might want to try Boston or NY where it's still snowing.

no fully loaded sunset z's with an auto trans in michigan. the dealer did a search for me and had one flat bed shipped from pa, to mi at no charge. cant complain there.
i barely made it 2 days waiting for my car let alone the 3 months it would of took for nissan to make one.

My question with all of this is, how does the warranty work? Once you have it shipped from say Florida to your home in Texas, what dealership do you take your car into for all warrantied work? How do you go about all of that, I'm confused

Glad to see some other people have done this! I live in CA bay area and have a good friend that just happens to be a manager at a Nissan dealership near St. Louis. He can hook me up with a Z at invoice, but I would have to ship it to CA (probably about $500-750), which would be about 2-3% over invoice when done. But I was worried about shipping it that far. What I'll probably do is use his quote as a low ball and get a Z 2-3% over invoice over here in CA (he actually said he'd help me with that). Can't wait to get it!
