Default How far can you use your remote?

I think that I've got the shortest distance using my key fob....it will only work if I'm within 10'. I pretty much have to be right up on it for any of the functions to work.

Does anyone else have this problem? I'm going to try and change the battery, but both of my remotes are only a couple months old? WTF

It is not the battery, I have the same exact problem with mine. These things just have no range whatsoever.

Try and put the key fob under your chin and you will get more range

I'm not kidding either, my brother showed me this trick and it works

I guess your body amplifies the signal

I lift my leg and put it under my chin, that gives me an extra 2" inches.

Tonight I got about 35 feet on it tonight, but i was about 10 feet above the Z, I think the higher you are the better range

Hmm I also use the old chin method, but I can actually use my remote from across a whole parking lot. Even works from the backyard to the car inside the garage.

Mine is also about 10 feet which is very short compared to my Acura's range. I think it's a hit and miss with the different car companies. I had a 300M before the Acura and it was also about 10-15 feet.

Default Range........

I've found that the higher you hold it the further the range.

I guess it all depends... I get range over 50 feet with the chin method. Actually I get a lot more than 50 feet at times... key is that cars CANNOT be between you and your Z or else the waves don't seem to reach the destination.

The guys on Car Talk were discussing the chin method on one of the shows. I think their theory was that the signal bounces off your chin and gets wider.
