I think we have the same squeak!

Just that mine is constant and drives me insane! The thing is, the day before I was about to tear into the hatch the noise stopped. It's been 4 days since the noise went away and all i did was wash and wax my car. I'm keeping an ear on it to see if it comes back though. (crosses fingers)

Good luck with your Z. If I ever figure out where that squeak is coming from I'll be sure to let ya know.

What they had to go through to get a disk brake to be both hydraulic for normal operation and mechanical for a parking brake was most impressively complicated.

My solution is to not use the parking brake unless I'm on a hill. Just leaving it in gear is enough usually. If you're going to leave your car for over several weeks, don't set the brake.

Not so! I had a Nissan truck slip out of gear - rolled down my not so steep drive and rolled across the stree t - a big fat cad was in the drive across from me - but luckily, smart truck, did a slide turn and went into the neigbors lawn - only damage - to my curbside mailbox as it went by it- no damage to truck.

I now ALWAYS put on parking brake - enen onlevel gravel.
