Dude, if you are to take an s2k of the show room floor and weigh it, no way its going to hit that low of a weight. The weight of the car will be around 2,850. I think even hondas specs are that or higher.

Yes, I have taken an s2k to a weight station, personally. 2,840 is what it came out to.

These guys probably had their spar tires and jacks taken out, along with other things that probably saved a little bit of weight here and there.

Also, I guess different people have different opinions of oversteer. The s2k would not really oversteer until it was at it's limits. As you said, the car IS very neutral, and of course, as everyone knows, it handles GREAT. However, the 00-03's COULD very easliy oversteer once its limit was breached, and when that happens, it is no the easiest car to get back into line once lost. I am not just ssaying this being a bench racer, I have experiance with it. Also, read the s2k forum and they will say the same. I have seen countless threads about it, being a member for nearly 3 years over there.

All that you say is true about the weight and the breached limit thing... sorta. I don't have much difficulty getting it back into shape. I guess by now I've developed a keen sense of when it's reaching the limit.

I've tracked the car and I auto-xed the car literally 32 events last year. I'm pretty serious about it. I doubt I'd be that into it if I had a Z. Just not as rewarding to me when I drove that guys. If felt like I was wearing a jacket that was too big and I was trying to run the hurdles or something.

Oh yeah, I never said once you loose it your GONE! Of course, it is controlable, just not as easy as the Z is. A driver who is nto experianced and looses it in an s2k v. Z, would probably put the S in a wall while the Z is easier to save. Someone like yourself who drives the car how it is suppose to be drivin, on a regular basis, it's juuust fine.

well ,its a matter of taste to me a fully loaded Z top of the line model looks alot better than a s2ks intierior , the Z to me has hands up the better design overall, performance is a diff story, but honestly when i pull in with my friends s2k no one even looks at the car or really care to understand why the s2k is such a good car. THe Z automatically, head turner alot of tuner coverage etc, both cars have a good rep but im sorry, i think the s2ks intirieror is bland and to simple compared to the top of the line Z. I also think the nav even makes the appearance even better, .....i cant see no reason to boast a s2ks intireiror ........post pics, im sure you can see more design an refienment in the Z. ...

Blah, I like both interiors.

BUT... "i think the s2ks intirieror is bland and to simple compared to the top of the line Z."

The s2k is SUPPOSE to be simple, that is their whole objective with it. It is the minimalist (sp) approach, which, really is nice. When i first started getting into the s2k I too did not like how bland it was, but it deffinitly grows on you.

And those door handles on the Z would NEVER break, they are real metal, and the linkage is strong too.

And I agree with the above, the Z DEFFINITLY demands more attention on average then an S2k, at least from my experiance. The attention I have gotten in mine was absolutly rediculous. It was actaully to much!

Having owned both cars, I can honestly say I have no clue what you're talking about. My S2k's interior (granted it was a pre-04) was abysmal in both materials and fit-finish. I'm not saying the Z's is much better, but anyone who has truly spent time in either car can attest to the fact that neither makes use of high grade materials. The cheap hard plastics on the S2k are also found in the Z.

I was loooking at s2000 back in 2002 and well here I am in 05 with a Z. Yes the Honda has the better interior but for me, my deciding factor was performance and torque although I must give props to the S2000 handling.

Hey I was and still am a Honda chick at heart but now I play with the Z force

It was a easy choice for me. My wheelchair would not fit in the 2000, it was tuff enough for my Z.

Thumbs up

I like the interior of both cars. The interiors don't seem cheap at all to me.

I'm glad I got the 350Z, its more of a head turner than any EVO/STI/SRT4.

I'm sure its as much of a head turner as a Corvette, even though the performance doesn't match it.

I just got a honk and a thumbs up the other day. haha.

350Z is also good with the ladies.

i dont think you can get the s2000 with traction control. the z is much more use able as a car. the z is just a notch better in looks but i love the s2000 steering wheel. it is a shame every one that sees a small convertable instatly thinks its a miata. but we all know that the s2000 has a better antenna. overall i would say the Z, more useable power, engine sound and so much more.

I also found the interior a little cramped, and I`m not a big guy at 6 feet tall.
Also, I was having to convince myself to like the digital display. It reminded me of a buddies piece of crap `86 Supra.
Plus the lack of torque. I could go on.
I still think there nice cars, but the Z is so much better.
trust me, i have a s2000 and NOBODY thinks its a miata lol, some people actually asked me if i drove a porsche

owned an s2000...looking to buy a Z...only because currently I drive an M3, so i dont think i can go back to a 4 banger...but s2000 handlling is great out of the box, but I do feel you got to keep the revs up to keep it going...but all in all, im looking for more of a daily driver, so Im looking into a Z for descent power, handling and aesthetics...but I hate the interior of the Z for sure...

i live in socal, and i see about 3 thousand z33's everyday, compared to 10-15 s2k's a day. i drive an average of 100 miles per day, 5 days a week. 45 mile radius around Diamond Bar city.

half of the z33's i see every day are driven by females. out of the s2000's i see around here, i've only seen about 5 girls driving it (and i know 3 of them).

i think more girls drive the z33 because it comes in automatic. s2000 only comes in manual transmission. i'm not saying girls can't drive stick, just saying that on average girls prefer driving automatics.

that said, the 350z and s2k just makes power at the opposite end of the rpm spectrum. the z is a better DD hands down, while the s2k is a better track car due to its lighter weight and handling dynamics. however on bigger tracks the z will be faster because of the bigger motor (more power) and the ability to reach higher speeds faster. off a dig the s2k could beat the z until around 80-90mph because it's lighter. but once moving, say a highway roll, the z has the definite advantage.

looks are subjective so i wont get into that, but the s2k being a chick car is just not true. it might attract girls because it looks "cute" as many of my girl friends say, but once they've sat inside one or driven one (few could do this since it's manual) they end up not wanting one. it's too much of a track car on the streets, and it's "loud and small".

both are awesome cars. at the price range, the Z is the best FR coupe, while the S2k is the best roadster.

I test drove both z350 and s2000. I am not a big guy.. and feel so cramp inside the s2000. I also didn't like I have to rev so high to get some decent power (too much attention for the cops). The button start is nice, but you still need the key to turn.. what's the point?
