I don't know if anyone care about this thread anymore, but if you want to turn off the VDC and Traction control completely. This is what you do, I am not BSing, but it sounds crazy.

You press the Traction Control button, and the yellow light comes on on the dash. Then you go right ahead and do one aggressive (two, three.. how many you want) and you will see that the SPIN light will be lid up permnantly. Even if you press the Traction Control button, the lights will remain on. At this time, VDC is totally 100 percent off.

If you want to turn everythign back on, just shut off the car and start it again.

The RX-8 can do the same thing, except the can press and hold the button and we have make the rear wheels spin like hell while having some angle at steering..

no lol, go out to a walmart parking lot when its raining and or snowing..... start the car..... push the VDC button... and start doing bunouts and or doughnuts and or drifting..... THE CAR DOES NOT RESPOND IT JUST GOES LIKE STINK.

Have some of you ever even played around in your Z? Or are some of the poeple here just forum dwellers?

The Whiteline Black Box will not only turn it off but will also allow you to adjust front to rear bias on the VDC to allow you to create understeer or oversteer for track conditions. We're hoping to have one here soon to test on a track car and will most likely be selling them in 09.

Has anyone modded the TSC switch to another location that is more easily accesible? I want to mount it next to the gear shift for easier access because my NISMO LSD is too gnarly for the TSC.

Red -- orange -- yellow -- who cares. It stops the Slip/VDC lights.

so according to post #57 and this thread https://my350z.com/forum/2003-2009-n...mpletly-8.html
disabling the yaw sensor should completely disable VDC without it kicking back in

I read the entire thread about 4-5 years ago, when it was still fresh, lol. I'm thinking there were several suggestions - just wondered which one worked for him.

Usually, they pull the fuse. That's great off the public roads but not a wise idea otherwise. That also disables ABS, brake lights, etc.

yes, i know the fuses that are used for the vdc also have many other functions on them. If you were just to track the car and not use it for any street driving then i would say just find the vdc/abs/tcs module that sits behind your steering column and unplug it. Of course you will have a CEL but then all those functions would not be working and you would still have the rest of the functions intact and in working order. I mean if your tracking the car anyway who needs ABS and tcs or vdc anyway??????

In fact I don't even like ABS in the Z just for street driving.

Here are some diagrams to help you in case you decide to find things.
the VDC unit has its own box of relays. I have not yet done a job to where i had to access it, but it maybe possible to remove the relay for the purpose that you want. ( second page, top picture,VDC RELAY BOX)

On my '05 Track model (RevUp), I do burn-outs just fine with VDC off.

No fuses to pull, no wires to cut.

You can't do it with the brakes on, since the ECU limits throttle to 50% when the brake lights are on. I use that feature when left-foot braking.

Then how do you keep the car from rolling if the brakes aren't applied?
